World 110 Materials Renaming

I am not sure if this counts more as World > Profession Nodes or Game Mechanics > Professions.
Please give more specialised names to the materials, because dernic fish, dernic seed, dernic ore, and dernic wood seems less indicative of being too eldritch to describe and more like these were placeholder names that never were replaced.
My suggestions are
Dernic Ore > Obsidium (The region is dominated by the obsidian spikes, but since those are not directly mineable then a variation on obsidian may fit better)
Dernic Wood > Eyebark (Separating this from the general Dern aesthetic, as the eyeball forest is based around Lutho and it is not exactly known if these trees appear in the realm of Dern)
Dernic Fish > Bleak (Focuses on the dead grey monotony that you fish them from in the toxic area they are found)
Dernic Seed > Voidberry/Voidheart (Despite having a name that fits better with the Ahms void, they are mostly focused around the Void Valley, and implies they can be found in Dern, where the affiliation with the void is at its second strongest. It is also close enough in level it is thematically similar to Voidstone and the L100+ mobs in the Ahms void, should nodes be decided to be added there as well)

Calling the 120 wood in Fruma "Auburn" just feels right by the way, given the autumnal nature of the forests we did see.

 

Got any name suggestions for the 'light' and 'dark' wood of level 60 and 70 respectively?

I like the suggestion, the level 100 materials have their own name and we can still call them sky mats as a whole.
Why not the same for dernic mats.

Type: Specific/ General
Ore: Olmic/ ???
Wood: Eyeball/ Silent
Fish: Toxifin/ ???
Crop: Voidfruit/ Abysseed

“Specific” basically refers to the names I’ll use if I’m allowed to use really specific species names for the materials, like “Birch” or “Avo”

“General” is used in the event where Dernic materials are disallowed to have names and are intentionally named vaguely, like Sky Wood

Note that the pasted message is a bit old so the “General” names are a bit iffy. The “Specific” ones still sound pretty good though

The area is not made of Obsidian. The Minecraft blocks are Obsidian, but lore wise that is not volcanic glass. The spires and monoliths that make up the mountains are made from some unnamed Dernic stone, which were used to fashion the Abysso Galoshes.

The fish are not dead though, nor is the toxic wastes. In fact, the entire biome is alive, literally as far removed from dead as you could get.

They're not related to the void at all, though. Gloom bushes are, and initially me and linny were intending to add some to upper void valley. Dernic seed isnt specifically void themed.

Auburn is the name of the biome the town of Espren is located in.

Dernic Ore -> Dark Ore [or really any other word for Dark and any fitting type of gemstone] (Dark Gem / Ingot)
Dernic Wood -> Eyeball Tree (Macular Plank / Paper)
Dernic Fish -> Mutant Hagfish [or really any other type of fish, especially those with feelers on their face] (Mutated Meat / Oil)
Dernic Seed -> Bulb Seed (Bulb Grain / String)

 

dark ore is even more generic a name than dernic ore

i think parasitic hagfish/catfish/etc is a name that would work well for these, considering the nature of the biome

 

Then you can keep Dernic Ore

 

What trees are those? I've never seen those in game before. And the black background makes me think those are from Fruma since the recover the past memory scenes all have a black background. Are those trees from the Auburn Forrest?

 

These trees were updated, as that model for them was old.

They appear in Recover the Past, but they aren't harvestable and don't have any name.

No, because it's not Olm related, just like how Dernic Seed is not void related.

110 Ore: Darkstone
110 Wood: Ophthalmic
110 Fish: Hagfish
110 Crop: Nightshade

Also while we're at it let me just:
30 Ore: Quartztite
30 Crop: Sweetgrass
60 Wood: Dark Oak
70 Wood: Elm
70 Crop: Peanut
90 Ore: Pyrostone
90 Fish: Lava Eel
