Game Mechanics Ability Shard Revamp

I have a suggestion for ability shard to make them useful.

make them something you use to edit your tree rather than reset it. I cannot tell you how nice it would be to just move stuff around rather than start from scratch.

 

Ability Shards are just useless in general. I think it should be like soul points where you can freely edit your tree when inside a town.

Yes please. How many times have i just wanted to move my abilites around? Many.

While this would be convenient it would also not add anything to the game. To concept of sacrificing shards to edit rather than start from scratch makes sense. Also I think they should make shards a raid only item from NoL because we all know NoL is pointless rn.

 

You are right it doesn't add anything to the game, but it removes an unnecessary inconvenience. Ability Shards, like Soul Points, are losungnichtproblems, which are solutions to problems that should have no warranted reason to exist (an example's below). Skill Points also had a sacrifice of 2 Soul Points and now it's changed to its current situation of just being able to freely edit them when in a town. Even if ability shards are now restricted to NoL there will still be a massive overflow of them in the Trade Market and they'll still be chump change, not to mention that some people also hoard them as a bonus from daily objectives and/or guild objectives. Making ability shards only being able to be dropped from NoL is, as mentioned before, a losungnichtproblem. There will still be an overflow and this is not the right way to make NoL mainstream again imo.

Losungnichtproblem example: Imagine that you are trying to decrease procrastination, but you don't want to give up time having fun, so what you decide to as a solution is to make a sheet of how many times you wasted time instead of being productive and you look at it often to realize how much time you've wasted, instead of doing the far simpler and more effective solution of just trying to decrease procrastination in the first place, the problem's still there, all you just did is come up with an excuse to not get rid of it. Edit: To follow up tho if ability shards absolutely have to stay in the game this is a good improvement, and I'm not exactly against the idea, I'm just against Ability Shards in general.
