Pets & Horses Mounts Overhaul Suggestion For Collectors of Mounts

Note some parts might not make sense because i had to cut 50% of it down. if anything seems off please comment it and ill try to explain my thought process.

The mount system in this game really needs to be revisited. I loved mount hunting in World of Warcraft and it took most of my life trying to collect them all. Currently, in this game, there is no joy for collectors like me. Sure there are mythic but it just doesn’t feel fun at all. That’s why I would love to see the mount system be changed.

my suggestion is to add mounts of tier 5 that can only be obtained through either in-game feats or exclusive rewards. This way it's unique and adds functionality to the mounts. Currently, in almost all cases its better to just use your escape ability to travel around the world than ever use a mount.

== Meme Mounts ==

As the name suggests. Meme mounts are mostly joke mounts possibly event rewards but it's mostly to get a laugh instead of an aw. like a pig mount that's its just for laughs just like the normal Minecraft riding pig.

== Region Exclusive ==

Now for this, I always wonder why gavel never got their own mount to show off. So why not add a quest for level 60 that has the player meet some orc riders riding on big wolfs?

Dire Wolf = Level 60 Gavel Quest Reward by the orcs. (P.s ill love to see some orcs riding on them as enemies and allies orcs) same for the wynn's horse.

== Promotion Rewards ==

I saw in an interview on Olinus10 Channel that flying mounts are hard to code. For this ill like to suggest a possible solution to this. Ill create a copy of the player mounted and paste it over the player and have it follow on the player similar to the pets. then ill turn the player invisable and dismount them, lastly ill either give the player creative if I don’t want them to take damage while flying or give them fly permission. This way the player is the one flying but what the player sees is a copy of the player mounted on a mount flying. Ill also add some animation like flopping wings or particles to signalize the player that they are flying a mount. Lastly im not much of a Minecraft coder so I do apologize if this doesn’t work but it is a common practice to use layers like this.

== Shop Exclusive Purchase =

When I saw the rewards for champion Rank I was disappointed with them. Its good for personal rewards but I wished it had more of a visual reward on your character. In fact when I was going back doing all the low level caves and saw this lion modal I immediately thought why is this not a reward for champion rank and that was the start of this whole suggestion. If this is added to the game ill buy champion rank in a heartbeat.


Modal Pride Male Lion from the Lion's Lair Cave but with a saddle and maybe a wynn badge plating on the side of both front legs.

Now you could go the blizzard route and make most of the cool mounts locked behind a shop but please don’t. if you really have to at least don’t make too many where you have more mounts on the shop then ingame rewards.

= Rare Encounter =

Ok its it just me or does Rare Encounter needs better rewards because right now you barely notice or cure if you fine a rare enemy. Why not have it have a crazy 0.001% chance of dropping a mountable Version of them selfs.

 

As a rule of thumb, if youre going to suggest something, please keep it concise and don't add details for every single feature that you think should be added as part of it. You're already pitching an iffy idea, you should focus on explaining why said idea is vital here. We're not going to take balancing or stat or ability ideas, at most we'd take the bare idea

You don't even take into consideration the context or lore behind any of these mobs, their habitat is completely ignored, and some of these foes could literally not be tamed, namely those from the Silent Expanse. There wouldn't be a dragon mount because there's only 2 dragons left. A level 90 mob should not be part of a low level quest, not to mention it's from a very specific habitat, as are all of these mobs. Subterranean overlord makes no sense for a reward for completing all quests. Rare mobs already have rewards and those are the high tier ingredients that they drop, and they definitely are noticable when they spawn. Finally, and most egregious, is Orphion. Orphion is a literal God, the second strongest being in the entire canon of Wynncraft, in other words youre not going to use the actual embodiment of Light as a mount.

Keep the first three paragraphs, minus the part on middle click spell combos as not every computer has a middle mouse button and I also believe it's not an input we can detect anyways.

 

"These are creature already in the game with modals that could fit being awesome mounts. These should be ingame rewards but super hard to get depanding on the cool factor. Note the cool factor is based on my own Opinion." Every mount beneath this sentence wants to kill you. ( aside from chalky kantyr) As a wise man once says.

 

oh i didn't know that. maybe i should also not mount on almost 98% of the world of Warcraft mounts then. i mean your riding a damn dragon for god sake.

 

ok see now im getting opposing rulings here. i was told to add everything about my suggestion with lots of examples. also i did go into detail of why its good for the game.

nowhere in the rules said that i couldn't suggest abilities. so if i break some rules im sorry but i have seen other suggestions about abilities and lots of other things about balancing. so i feel a little targeted here.
if the devs don't like the idea of them having abilities then it runs into the same problem of what i said in the suggestion Quote what is the point of mounts if the escape abilities can Literally let you fly across the whole map 5 times faster than any current mount can. the abilities is what makes it special and worth obtaining. if its too hard then make the abilities just passive support skills and not active damaging abilities but my suggestion fall completely apart without that.

Middle click is not detectable.
People don't want too much P2W content.
"Cool Factor" is a bad name.

Its not a matter of rules, it's a matter that we aren't looking for the abilities. It's not enforced or anything, and I'm not saying you broke any guidelines, I'm saying that a lot of your suggestion isn't stuff we'd accept or use. We're looking for suggestions on what could be added to the game, but the details of the stats or everything and the abilities and what creatures are used as mounts and how you get them isn't something we would pull from the suggestion, and is something that we would make ourselves. When someone makes the suggestion of, say, adding a new challenge to a game or reworking an existing one, we aren't looking for them to suggest what every mob and every reward would be, we're looking for the argumentation as to why it would be good and an improvement to the game, and the general structure of it.

 

oh good to know. i was working on a big suggestion on a class with everything. their abilities, weapons, skill tree, and now I know that's not being looked at. i really wished it was stated somewhere in the forums that the devs are not looking for any of this. will I think my hopes are gone its been fun. ill soon delete this post and look for something else to play.

while it is true that we would never directly add suggestions like these, that doesn't mean we aren't looking at them, and taking note of good ideas we see within them. for instance, while i disagree with much of this thread there are also ideas in here that i like, if you have cool ideas, share them. i wouldn't be on the Content Team right now if people bullied me into not posting suggestions.

 

I've explained it before but without the disclaimer that we don't take suggestions on exact things like mobs or new weapons, people genuinely believe they will be added to the game. I support the poster being able to express their ideas, however I feel it's important that they cut down all the things we aren't going to consider because it ends up bloating their suggestion and overall hurting our perception of it.

However that's not what I said. I think your core idea is good and is something we have been considering. Salted himself stated hes been thinking about diversifying mounts in wynncraft and has brought up the potential of flying ones. We are looking for suggestions, we just aren't looking for every detail and piece to be written out because that's our job as those who create and maintain the game

What I'm basically saying is that your post should focus on why it would be good to add mounts and the potential of certain features they could provide, and not what each mount should be and its exact abilities

 

sorry im also at fault here. i didn't clearly state that all of these were examples of what I would do, not what I wanted the devs to do. i really didn't want the devs to take my suggestion word for word. Honestly, I would be highly disappointed if they did. i have cut down my suggestion to be more what devs are looking for even though it lost most of the point of my suggestion and now its a basic change mounts suggestion. sorry for any misunderstanding
