Hello, this is a random idea I had in a dream which I thought might just be interesting.

The idea is that an item would negate a positive or negative stat up to a certain point.
    For instance:

Say you have a build that gives -10 int. If you added an item that negated -5 int, your build would have a total of -5 int, rather than -10 int before the item.
Now, people already do this with positive stats, but where this would differ is that it would not give overflow. So, that same build, if you were to add a +20 int item, your build would have 10 int. However, if you added an item that negated -20 int, you would have 0 int.

Think of it as a positive or negative stat without overflow beyond 0.

The main reason I suggest this is to give a little more attention to negative stats/the upper reaches of a stat. Currently they kinda just exist with no real acknowledgement, but a raid buff with +200 defence negation (reduces up to 200 defence) could be game breaking and extraordinarily interesting. Would people build with 300+ defence? Would they bring consus? Or would they just play at 0 def?

I don't think this idea would work in Wynncraft, as there aren't any downsides to having negative stats. There isn't a gameplay difference between having 0 points in strength, and -10 points in strength, so avoiding negative statistics wouldn't have any impact.

You'd be right if negation stats applied after positive stats. But, if they applied before, you could negate a -30 defence bonus and then increase from 0 rather than -30. Similarly, instead of Divzer having -330 agility, just have it negate all agility/73 defence. Maybe negated stats could even count towards skill point requirements.

It may not be necessary, but I think it would add to class building and the item pool as a whole

this seems ruthlessly confusing for very little actual unique effect. an extremely large part of all negative stats are able to be countered by normal, already existing positive stats, and the handful of exceptions to that such as the Master Hive armour or Aphotic are intentionally made that hard to use with certain elements, and having an easy way to avoid this kinda ruins the point of such items.
