Game Mechanics Inverted Controls

    I just started playing today and I am a bit displeased how confusing it is that the game will say to press a button, when it is actually referring to the control that button is bound to by default, i.e. Shift - Crouch. I play Minecraft by using Shift-Sprint and Control-Crouch, as well as Left Click-Place and Right Click-Attack. I think it would be nice if the game could be coded to either detect this automatically, or allow a toggle command that would allow inverted shift/crouch and place/attack.

    I think this could be possible, you CAN use translation strings, i just don't know if you can do that in chat or titles

    i also use shift to sprint and cntrl to crouch but i really do not give 2 shits about what the screen says, if you play with these controls for long enough, you should be able to recognize that when the game says to shift, you just press whatevr key shift is bound to.
    (or just play the game ignore dialogue and learn everyhting yourself hehehehehhahhrhrhrhr)
    and yeah this is imposible without mods, which is one of wynns main selling points

    It is possible using the "keybind" JSON text component (e.g., {"keybind": "key.inventory"} shows "e" in the default control scheme). However, that only exists on 1.12+.
