To me, health sustain is handled rather oddly.

    Problems:
    - A balancing aspect for making builds includes negative health regen IDs, and it appears to be everywhere, where other possible balancing aspects do not exist.
This makes it more difficult to make a viable build that doesn't need potions, and it's uninteresting to see negative health regen IDs on every item. Having other negative stats would be more unique, instead of negative health sustain on what seems like every other item.
One example includes Sagittarius, which its only negative stat is in hp regen %, and I question why it's even there in the first place.
Plus, a multitude of other items have hp regen raw or % as their only negative stat, or as one of like, two or three.

    - Potions are too mainstream. The only downside I can think of is that you have to pay close to 1 emerald block (62 emeralds) for 1 level 100 potion. Yet, they can be spammed, and heal a ton of hit points. 4500 ×3 in a level 100 potion. So, potions are rather commonplace . . . too commonplace.

Here are some of the new items, images from SaltyKing's thread:

It's a ton of negative health regen, some negative life steal. Only one of these is given a different form of health sustain to make up for it.

Negative health sustain is so saturated.
It would be nicer if these items got alternate forms of positive HP sustain along with the negative. Maybe put a different negative stat in its place. Or at least make these negative life sustains more scarce.

    What's done well:
I like Wanderlust. The negative regen % but with positive steal too. Off of the top of my head, Nether's Scar is a well-designed negative hpr item too, since the positive cancels it out, but something like Apocalypse could reverse the positive %.

I'm not sure if it works like flipping ingredients, but it appears Danse Macabre might have the opportunity to flip its regen to positive, which is cool. Yet, at the same time, probably horribly inefficient. Although, maybe that's not how that works. (That's not how that works. Unfortunate. Negative % always reduces regen, even if it's in the 100s or 200s of %. https://wynnbuilder.github.io/#4_0L42SH0WD2SJ2SK2SL2SM2SN2SO0o0o+T16161g00000) I mean, at least -265% health regen is more interesting and unique than -17%.

Oh, the rework of life steal also seems to be good, and I like how it will be more consistent.

It'd be nice if something was done to potions too, like less HP or maybe a short cooldown of 3 or 4 seconds or something.

I'm disappointed at how often I see negative health sustain on items, forcing a majority of viable builds to depend on potions for reliable health sustain.

Quick fixes to the above items:

100 less HP to start with.
A roll to reduce your health, it's a negative condition that might affect your quality of life.
Reflection - could represent the condition/not seeing clearly. If removing the regen % removes part of the naming scheme.

    Screenshot_20220623-213512_Chrome.jpg
100 less HP. Still hurts life, like the -17% regen, just in a different way.
    That's one clean item!
    Screenshot_20220623-215905_Chrome.jpg
    150 less HP.
Negative water defense % could be a negative ID because it's a fire sign. I should've made that max roll a 23%, ah.

Edits: Grammar, spelling, rewriting some things to make it flow better.

For all except wanderlust, it makes sense they have negative hpr, as they're horribly cursed Dernic objects. Grafted Eyestalk is literally an eyeball stalk you're probably stapling onto yourself.

Perhaps it makes sense name-wise, but there's just so much of it and it's really annoying.

And there are other ways to communicate the naming theme, with different stats like regular -health, weaker elemental defenses, or literally anything else.

Or the name could always be changed--or not fit the name at all.
Black Amaranth has -hpr and it literally has a ton of supposed health benefits. Only dangerous to people with kidney issues or an intolerance for lysinuric protein. Which at this point, could be stated that with every single thing out there, someone can't have it because of a health complication.

    Bump CGG items.

Literally two more with -hpr and they're ships. Can't reasonably defend that item theming. If it's because of storms or use and time damaging ships then we might as well apply -hpr to literally every item in the game.

So many IDs . . . and they repeatedly choose hpr as a negative.

Jokes aside, I agree. Wynn needs more variation in negative IDs. Maybe some more +spellcost items for a change?
