Game Mechanics Class deletion time (many supporters probably too lazy to update the title for every vote)

I'm running on like 2 hours of sleep and a crap ton of caffeine so my apologies if this is a bit... messy

As I'm sure most of you know, when you go to delete a class, it takes a HUGE amount of time for the class to actually delete - this scales with level, but goes up to forty days for level 100+ classes. CHAMPIONs, of course, have the option to immediately delete classes, but I don't think most players want to play $170 USD in order to delete classes in a reasonable amount of time. N0w, I completely understand the reasoning behind some wait time - it prevents classes from being deleted on accident, and gives the player some time to think about the class deletion. I have several issues with this line of thought, however.

First off, there is already a "are you sure you want to delete this class" screen, which acts as a safeguard for accidental deletion. Secondly, if I'm intentionally deleting a class, you can be sure that I've thought this over long and hard. The game doesn't need to "give me" more time to think about it.

I agree that some deletion time is useful, and a good idea on the whole, however FORTY DAYS is incredibly overkill.

also god dammit if I'm deleting some random level 40 character I made I don't wanna have to wait for like 5 days or however long that takes.

 

I feel like the wait shouldn’t be entirely removed, but drastically reduced to about (level*0.6) minutes, so it takes 1 hour to delete a level 100 class and that level 1 character you made and decided to switch classes only takes like 30 seconds as opposed to 2 minutes.

 

Yeah, I ran out of class slots on the beta and to do a shaman playthrough I need to keep waiting 15 days for a single class to get deleted.
By the time those 15 days have passed the beta might have ended...

 

It is indeed time to delete my classes, but 40 days is stretching my patience juuuust a little bit.
Keep in mind that's 1/9th of a year.
I have to wait 1/9th of a year to start a new character.
(Well I have one class slot left but we don't talk about that. Waiting for 2.0 + once I level it, there will still be days I have to wait before I can try another class.)

 

also this is slightly annoying for low level classes as well, because whenever I intend to start a new playthrough with my friends, I need to delete a class, normally a low-level one like level 20-40, and it takes half an hour to delete which by then a sizable portion of our time is wasted

 

+1 - my friend just had to delete a level 11 class and it took 14 minutes
how hard is it to just decrease the time

 

maybe if they decrease the time the server would lag from the amount of resources it is redirecting to removing classes
but would that seriously be a problem tho

 

I doubt this is the issue, especially if Champ can instantly delete a class. It's clearly possible to just remove the time all together. As to why they haven't, I got no clue.

 

they said in the patch notes that it consumes too much resources to instantly delete, so they made it so that champions can instantly delete classes, and as there aren't many champions, it works
the time should be reduced tho

It should be lowered but not removed because it can prevent missclicks or just stop the deletion if you changed your mind (would be pretty annoying to delete in few seconds a class you grinded for hours and hours)

I think it should still be at least a couple minutes just so that people can still cancel if they made a mistake, idk what the technical stuff behind it is so it may or may not be possible but that'd be ideal for me.
