Perhaps, but the update won't drop for at least a few weeks because of Hero Beta. It may even a month or more away if it needs a lot of balance and fixing, which is a decent chunk of time. So we might as well enjoy these builds while we wait and while we still can. There's plenty of time left to use them, and a majority of them probably won't be hit, or at least not too hard.

Edit: Don't mind me not knowing how to use quotes, I haven't used this in a while and just saw the quote thing at the bottom when you make a reply. Ah well, for next time.

i suppose what they're looking for is probably better spellcost (usually people evaluate builds at 6 clicks/sec, or 2 spell casts per second; if you don't have enough mana to keep that up the damage will suffer)
also, the damage itself is somewhat middling? ish? i think? for warrior spell (not horrible but not great, though its not good enough to justify the increased spellcost probably)

I meannnn, if you checked the post, there are now ETW builds…
But the dmg seems unreliable to me

 

if you run the numbers, compiler melee gets 30k boosted dps, compiler poison gets 40k
the only builds that even hit 30k on this thread are ETW event and ETWF event; 40k is out of the question

edit: compiler poison hybrid soloes the eye in 3:33ish, compiler melee soloes in ~3:49ish. (using tomes... mythic tomes...) I believe you will have a hard time matching these times using classic mage builds

I used this build (tweak of one that is on this thread under event horizon, i just dumped str/dex for even more damage) and soloed eye in 3:35ish, can probably go faster a bit (missed one whole curse... doom...)
but the dps is certainly comparable to compiler poison hybrid, and this build feels way way worse (negative walkspeed, zero mana regen, i ran out of mana multiple times each time i ran the boss because the build only barely sustains mana if you never heal)

Comments: bonder is pretty cool actually. this build does heavily benefit from a stardew with decent rolls especially for manas but it isn't the end of the world to use magnet repulsor.
I must mention that it isn't exactly the easiest to get since it requires, hive, LI, owybel and zealot drops as well as good rolls on them. still very fun and chaotic
