Where do I even start with this?

Basically, as I'm sure many people know, friend outlines are a super cool feature! You can see your friends' locations, provided they're somewhat nearby, and it just makes the game nicer.

Unfortunately, though, Hunted Mode is somewhat of a different story. Knowing where another player is gives you a massive upper hand. Currently, how the Hunted Mode mechanics work is that if both players are mutually friends, they cannot attack each other. However, if you have the other player friended and they don't have you friended, you know where they are at all times.

Of course, this also leads to hunters (or the people being hunted) spam friending and unfriending you to try and deal damage before you move from the spot they saw you through ten blocks of wall due to the outline.

In case you're still on the fence about it, here's a video explaining what I'm saying. I have a lot more but I think this one is probably the best example.

If I didn't have the advantage of knowing exactly (almost) where they were at all times, I would have ran directly into them and then neither of us would have an element of surprise. I probably would have died to a combination of the server lag and poor class matchup. I just really think that this should be fixed. HICH players also probably shouldn't lose hardcore tag to a pvp encounter but that's an entire new thread.

    How fix?
Just change it to only show outlines if both of the people are mutually friends. Or don't have one at all in Hunted. Either works.

If only the content direction was a bit focused towards improving the PVP by fixing these unbalancing issues and adding proper incentive to hunt players :pensive:
