Do you have a really cool skin that fits the setting of Wynncraft and the look of traditional Minecraft armor isn't to your liking?
I think it could be a good addition to add the ability to hide armor so you can show off any skins you have for the setting of Wynncraft!

I think this is a good addition for a few reasons:

    1. It blends you in with other NPCs and such, most of which don't have any armor equipped to their models.

    2. It gives players a lot of customization indirectly with their appearances, something that I honestly miss from the time that armor used to be attached to skins.

    3. Hats and stuff can look good on your character!

Unfortunately, I'm not too good with coding or plugins at all, so I don't know how hard this'll actually be to implement, but it's quality of life stuff like this that makes the game more enjoyable!

General Suggestions is a place to suggest features for the base game, not to recommend mods.

    Also, just don't vote?
Like, I'm not trying to be rude, just curious, if you don't have an opinion on something then why vote?
Also, do you need an option on a poll to state you don't care?

As for the suggestion itself, yeah.
It's something I've been trying to push for in terms of Champion perks, simply so they have more none pay to win stuff.
As for the code, it is indeed possible, just turn the armor into items that can't be rendered on the player model, in fact, Wynncraft used to do this with armor skins!
They would turn all armor pieces into slime balls, and then change the player's skin so it showed off what armor they were wearing.

It's honestly insane to me that Wynncraft doesn't allow you to show your skin at all unless you completely strip down. Making a custom character is a genera staple and what I would personally consider to be one of the best character creators (in some aspects anyways) is already built into their game. There's probably a dozen ways they could make the system work but for some reason we're all stuck running around in full diamond or a garbled mishmash of color for the morph-fans out there.

Making this a rank perk would be an absolute travesty though. Having your own unique character adds a lot of immersion and locking that to a potentially tiny group of players would be extremely disappointing.
The great thing about newer versions of servers is that the icons wouldn't even need to look like slime anymore, they could just make an identical texture for each armor material/piece and either add it as a fallback or if it's 1.14+ as it's own icon so you wouldn't even be able to tell the item was different.

Thinking about the slime makes me miss the old custom armor though, shame Mojang weren't fans though I can't say I blame them :(

Good idea, I'm not sure why they removed armor skins originally, so I'm assuming that they can't add that back, so at least letting people show their own skins would be a nice change since the current diamond armor doesn't look particularly good.

IIRC they removed the armor skins becuase Mojang complained about it flooding their skin system or something

No, Mojang argued that being able to intercept and forcibly change someone's skin was hacking.
At the very least, that's what I know about armor skins being removed.

    From Salted a long time ago;
"Well, first of, we can't get you guys passwords in any way, shape or form. Even if we somehow could (it'd be a gigantic shitstorm, as we definitely wouldnt be the first to notice) they most likely wouldn't be in simple plain text unless Mojang/Microsoft doesn't care at all about security.

We also changed the full skin. You can't technically only change a part of a skin. What we did (EVERYTIME you switched to a new uncached armour) is to create a copy of your actual skin, add our armour layer over it (x4 for the full armour set) and save it as one new skin, add it to our skin bots, transfer the bot skin to the player and then finally reload your whole character in game so the skin changes can appear to everyone. We had purchased a bunch of Minecraft account used to hold the temporary players skins (yea, we technically payed mojang for this feature...). Thankfully, unless you are in the low levels, people don't change armour often enough to overload it, we could cache most of it.

Anyway, we remove the feature for a few reasons...

    - The main one was Mojang kept blocking our skin requests thinking that we were spamming skin changes for no reason. It wasn't really fun to have your feature randomly getting broken and requiring you to fix it. It was like a slow and endless cat and mouse game. However it's important to know that we never broke the skin change time limit. From Mojang point of view, they saw a few accounts that were changing skins every minute or so. No rules were broken as i'm aware, but clearly Mojang (or some automatic process) didn't like what they saw.
    - The new item system allowed us to make new and unique items much faster and easily. After a while, the armour skins were holding us back in terms of speed
    - It felt buggy when you weren't expecting it (as we had to reload your character with the dirt screen) and sometimes caused people to lose items

Though, we always knew it was some kind of a risky feature to add, so it wasn't a huge shock when all that happened. Can't really completely blame Mojang for it either, it's their game and servers and it's up to them to decide their rules and draw the line. We had good intentions for it, but imagine if a different server decided to mess with people's skin and force you to donate to see your normal skin. I can see why Mojang wouldn't like that. I wouldn't either."

It's mostly that there were too many Mojang server requests and that it didn't work well, they can't actually do any hacky stuff because how Minecraft servers actually work.

None of this is really relevant to the point of this suggestion though since they wouldn't be changing skins, just showing what's already there.

Yeah, that's the main thing I'm not a fan of. I really do wish it was implemented since I really like some of the skins I use, and the diamond armor is too... Er, blue. I at least wish that there was a way to have the armor type changed, since iron is a lot more 'traditional' than diamond.

Hello! Another point I'd like to make is that a lot, if not, most of MMORPG tends to have a way for characters to be additionally personalized, whether it be through armor types being changed, or even to hide items that could make your character not as visually appealing.

I think having Wynncraft be able to either change the type of armor you can wear, as well as outright wearing it would be great for personalizing your experience, something like Roleplay, and especially helping Morph users not look like they threw on the first thing they saw in their closet.

Thanks for commenting! It was a really insightful read above all else. I wasn't too sure about the armor skin stuff in detail, but the reason for it being removed makes a lot of sense.
