Idea for an ultimate solution of an endgame problem!

    Hello adventurer!
    You probably all know the page Wynnbuilder or Wynndata, on these pages you don't only have access to all items, no you can also create builds with the items!
    There is always a fight between the builders as to which is the best build or if you try your hand at it, what can I do to make the build the way I want it? I have an idea which could solve all these problems, but I am unable to implement it! You could write a program with which you can set the desired attributes, for example Mana Steal min 5/3 Effective HP without Agi min 23,000!
    Then the program calculates (or tries out no idea what the xD is called) and gives you a result with the desired stats, which items you need and whether you need tomes (tomes can also be deactivated or adjusted if there is no Guild Tome available)
    The program would bring the creation of builds to a completely new level, but it could cost countless jobs in the build scene xD

    I mean it’s possible; it’s just a bunch of optimization problems nested together. Though it would probably be a lot more effort to code one than to just make an optimized build yourself.

    subjectivity is what makes this concept difficult to execute in practice.

    for example, what is dps to you? is it the value that wynnbuilder tells you for 3rd spell? do you also need to account for mana and spell costs? what about cps? do you assume that the player is constantly charging powder specials while fighting? does melee dps matter even in a spell build, and vice versa?

    because everyone will have different interpretations of the requirements, you won't be able to implement a build calculator that works for any reasonable portion of the community.

    I've spent a lot of time and thought into this, and while it isn't a bad idea, just think that there are, by my estimate, 2 x 10^17 viable permutations of somewhat meta items. That means, on the latest computers, it would take approximately one day to use a somewhat efficient sorting algorithm to sort them on one stat. But you'd also need to compile that list of builds, and possibly calculate a "build effectiveness" algorithm for each one. Ultimately, there isn't even an easy way to calculate dps, because you have the option of spells or melee. If you're doing melee, you need to consider max click speed, attack speed modifiers and attack speed, and the whole damage algorithm for each element as well as neutral, which is quite complicated. For spells, it's a whole different game. You'd have to determine the best spell cycle for your mana regen and spell costs, factor in click speed, and then go through the damage algorithm with that. If you're going to include hybrid builds as well, you'd have to consider the probability of mana steal triggering in combination with the mana regen in order to figure out your optimal spell cycle, which in turn would affect how much you're going to be doing melee, which affects your mana steal, which affects the spell cycle... It's recursive. After you've sorted that loop, you'd have to continue with the melee and spell damage calculations, along with poison as well. With all this, I'm not even going to do rough math on this, I'd say compiling and comparing all the possibiliies of builds is going to take at least a year on a standard computer, let alone the time investment needed to do the coding.

    it's probably feasible if you restrict the program to suit a specific player looking for a specific build type. under such constraints, you could use predetermined cps and spell cycles, as well as slashing the size of the item pool to only those that fit the right archetype. obviously, doing this would make it unviable for other players, but apart from that crippling weakness it's not as bad as you might expect. iirc atlas inc was even able to pull it off a long time ago, but it seems to have been abandoned since.

    Even then just the amount of stuff you need to specify initially for any potential algorithm to do its job would be as much if not more effort than just making a build using wynndata or something since you already have what you want in mind.

    It can be a tools for player but notting can overclass actual game skill. Some player can use glasscanon build because they have a gamestyle that fit with this kind of not recomended build
