Hephaestus-forged Sabatons

If you look at the lore on https://www.wynndata.tk/i/hephaestus-forged+sabatons
(for people who can't load wynndata it says "Honoring a mythical dwarven smith lost to the legends, these ornately-crafted boots are given only to those who have bested the Mistress of the Hive.")

Now, I'm sure you can see the problem here... why is Hephaestus canonically a dwarven smith??? This is an absolute outrage and I cannot play the game anymore, just looking at these boots causes my eyes to burn so badly I have to stop playing for months, and what's worse is that other people don't realize how terrible this is! PEOPLE BUILD WITH THIS ABOMINATION OF A BOOT!!!

I cannot stand such disrespect to the greatest olympian god and I demand that the content team fix this immediately.

 

Who says that they were talking about the Olympian god Hephaestus, and not some random person named Hephaestus?

 

Wynncraft lore is so screwy its best to just ignore it and just be all chill with it

ok thats it im hacking wynn to rewrite the lore. Time to write a four page double spaced essay on why they should spend our tax dollars fixing the lore

 

there's nothing "screwy" about this lore, there's nothing in the wynncraft lore that clearly contradicts the idea that there might've been a dwarf named Hephaestus at some point in time who knew how to make armor, this doesn't violate the established canon in any way shape or form and does not create any internal contradictions. The fact that there happens to be a greek god named Hephaestus is completely irrelevant since that greek god is not canon in wynncraft and has no affect on it's world and lore.
This feels especially irritating since I'm someone who tried to use this item in a TFA spell build, and I think this thread has a lot of wasted potential since it could've been about fixing the useless stats of the item.

And what points to this being the case?
I don't see why the CT would intentionally write a bunch of lies on their items when they could write lores that are actually canon

Many of the item lores (eg. Blessed Wrappings) do not contradict anything, and thus simply add to the world of the game. On the other hand, item lores such as Bridge of the Divide's are very contradictory, and should not be considered canon.

 

it's about a mythical, incredibly skilled dwarven smith, like the lore states. the dwarf was named after the greek god hephaestus as a reference because of smithing prowess and all that

anyway, most item lore doesn't really have a lot of meaning for wynn as a whole, but it's more fun to take all the item lore that isn't contradictory to lore from other sources as canon, so feel free to do so
