Wandering bosses would be bosses that would move around a certain area. These bosses would mostly be backed up by a few minions, but would usually not be too hard due to the fact these guys can be found in the open world. All wandering bosses would have a set route, so the coding (hopefully) wouldn’t be too complicated. Wandering bosses only stick to the area they spawn in, so random noobs in Ragni aren’t going to get insta killed by level 40 dudes that walked all the way from Nessak. These bosses, when killed, would drop t4 loot chest rewards, and sometimes some stuff that would only drop from them specifically. Only 3-6 wandering bosses can be up in a server, and would change every 2 hours.
Wandering Bosses would encourage players to explore the world more, as lootrunning can get boring after a while and secret discoveries might be hard for people not using the wiki. Wynncraft is about exploring, and this could emphasize that.
Here are some ideas I thought up:
This wight like mob would wander the emerald trail, detlas suburbs, and nemract swamp, at level 5, 10, and 20, respectively. It is guarded by corruptlings, who are baby zombies who use hit and run tactics. The boss itself is pretty tanky but doesn’t do much damage. However, it has massive cc abilties, with spells like push, pull, and flamethrower. Its melee attack also does considerable knockback. It drops the Spike Shard, a potion ingredient that greatly increases spell damage at the cost of raw health regen.
Flint Westwood would be a wandering boss in the Almuj Desert. He is a ranged mob equiped with a crossbow that has access to charge and arrow storm, and is the only mob to have access to bomb arrow. He is a very agile, spamming spells almost always. After a while, he would stop and fire 5 bomb arrows and pause to “reload.” This allows the player to take advantage of his somewhat low health and do as much damage as possible before he finishes reloading. He would drop a special weapon called the quickdrawer, a crossbow for super fast melee builds. He is not accompanied by any minions.
This boss is inspired by the Shockhopper boss in Starbound.
The Penguinator 3000 would be a giant metal like penguin in the Nessak Forest which can do massive damage with his inaccurate shotgun cannon and is very tanky. It has access to flamethrower, web shooter, slow, and a special abilty called shock field, which expels a shockwave around the Penguinator that stuns players for 1 second. Thankfully he is very, very slow… if his minions aren’t near him. He is backed up by small penguin bandits equipped with crossbows and 1 penguin mechanic. The mechanic has a heal ai, and has access to heal and arrow storm. As long as this guy is alive, if he is at least 10 blocks next to the Penguinator, the Penguinator gets strength 1 and becomes very fast. The mechanic, however, is very very squishy and can probably be killed with a single 3rd spell, so if you can get to the mechanic, the Penguinator becomes a sitting duck. Since this boss is a bit harder than the others, it has a increased rewards and drops the Penguinator Armor Plate, which provides huge defensive ids, at the cost of reduced mobility.
Since I made this on an ipad, I will make the items later.
    Thats it! Criticism appreciated.

I actually forgot to say the mesa and cotl wouldn’t get one because the terrain is too complicated and the sky islands also wouldn’t because the boss can just fall into the void and kill himself.

The respawn time is way too long, people would hunt them down and kill them within minutes

I like this idea because it encourages more exploration but I say this
should be remove because higher level players would instantly go rushing into these areas try to hunt the boss. This would make it so there is less exploration because people would just rush to that one area to hunt for the boss. A different way I think this can be used is that in each area the wandering boss has been/or is in a random npc in the area will mention hearing and/or seeing the boss which indicates that one the boss has spawned and two that it either is in this area or has been in this area. This allows the players to use this to slowly hunt down the mob by exploring this areas and finding the npcs and checking if the boss was that area, this also allows players to slowly figure out the path the boss is takes allowing them in future to ambush the boss using this information.

I think there should be some variability in were the boss travels to add some difference to each encounter but I like not to much variability.

The Penquinator 3000 would be something more found in corkus then nessak forest because of it being a metal machine I would suggest changing this to be more animal then mech.
There is also one major problem I see with this to there is very much space for them to walk around like because the nessek and desert area (removing the mesa) isn't that large which limits the areas in which you have to search which will reduce the exploration part of the this idea. A possiable fix for the Flint Westwood is that they can go into the mesa and for The penquinator 300 ummmmmmm idk. I say the flint westwood should be able to wandering into the mesa because in increase the amount of area the players have to cover and also if the boss is in the mesa it would allow for the boss battle to be completely different because the boss could ambush the player with high ground and use cover when reloading. Suming it up make so that the boss have much more ground to cover and don't rule out the more complicated areas.

Penguinator 3000’s route can include ice canyon. For Flint Westwood, he can also wander the savannah.
