Minor suggestion to fix a major problem with the titular boss of The Canyon Colossus.

When both players chosen by the Colossal Core perish, the raid becomes unwinnable. This is a big problem, especially if both players were very fragile and died easily. The suggested change makes it so that the chosen players transfer their status to another player, essentially rerolling their "chosen" status on death (raid still ends if 3 players die).

Should definitely get rid of "unwinnable" TCC raids due to a game mechanic jank.

Isn't that the point of the entire mechanic? If the chosen players dying makes no difference, why should the colossal core mechanic exist in the first place?

If you're annoyed about the fact that fragile players get chosen and then die, then why did the fragile players even get chosen? The core chooses the closest player to it on death, so it is a good idea to make the cores choose the tankiest players of the party.

Counterpoint: Your entire team dies to a stiff breeze. Or your team has no sustain whatsoever and you take way too much damage/second in P2 & P3.

The core's mechanics are fine as is, the proposition for that reason is not to get rid of the Colossal Core altogether; it's to ensure the raid is still winnable.

Then tell me, what really is the core's mechanic? Is it just so that one or two players get to press some buttons at the end of the raid to feel important, while the mechanic itself is not challenging in the slightest? If that's all it should be, then the cores may just as well be removed in my opinion.

The core mechanic adds another challenge to the battle; another thing to watch out for. Your team may not have died, but you still lost the raid. In my personal opinion, the mechanic is totally fine as it is and can be very easy to deal with as long as it's played around correctly.
