The /resetquest

1. The idea is kinda explain itself: just a command that would reset a quest whitout giving the awards to finish it.
2. Im pretty shure it would be possible
3. It would allow players that get a bugged quest to still do it (even if you dont get the rewards (we dont want players to farm the quests)) and it would allow youtubers to show of the quests whitout the need to create a new account/class.

 

It could still be abused even without awards, and would likely cause some really damaging bugs

How would this work with quests that give rewards needed for other quests?
Also this makes no sense from a lore perspective.

 

Honestly something like this mixed with wynn's natural tendency to break screams trouble. Would probably cause more trouble than it'd solve >.<

Honestly unsure myself, this entire suggestion is kinda.... bare bones. There's a lotta questions to be asked.

Also, a lot of features and stuff in game make no sense from a lore perspective, so Idk if that's the most relevant thing to mention on suggestions for game mechanics and whatnot >.>

Oh, btw. I've actually been in a communities with games where people ask for a Story Replay Option, and every dev that tries to address this says it's like rewriting the entire game to allow this to happen. Like, if you reset your choice from Aldorei Part I to something different, how does it affect Part II if you never did it, or if you also reset Part II while doing Part I? How can you code Storylines Replay to have different choices without distorting or making bugs to the later events down the line? It is really hard to make quests replayable, not only cause of bugs, but also coding it to wipe that section of progress, making all of it reset with relocking areas, and reworking it so that player to access the quest again that are meant to be cleared once when they new profiles and those who already completed said quest. So in general, it's a nightmare for devs to do, and is a massive timesink(like 9ish months of development for a full time team) to do unless a massive demand is there.

 

- Afaik Salted (or maybe Colin) said it is not possible due to the way the quests work.
- It would be almost surely prone to bugs and exploits.
- It would make people report less bugs, because they would just reset the quest and go on.
