Title says it all. But don’t nerf into unusability (not sure if thats a word but ok), just to the point where it’s way, way better to just get a regular build.

I agree. It’s demoralizing to make a build only to have it be half as good as morph

The thing with Morph is that it works well for people like me, it's cheap, it's good, and it's made for casuals.
Trust me, I've tried builds. I once spent like 15le on a PZ build for my Shaman and it sucked. That's why I don't use them.
People like me who can't be bothered to spend half of our money on builds have morph as a really good alternative and I will be annoyed if they nerf it. It would be a poor choice, too, because the set really makes the game more casual-friendly

That seems bad on the surface, but picture it like this:
Instead of being sad that your build isn't as good as morph, aim to make it better. Set Morph as a target for what you want your build to be better than.

Morph is like a basic set that is just fine enough as is, it does well in most environnements, but any well done build is better than it. Also morph is clearly designed towards spell, so im wondering how it can outclass melee builds on melee dps

Morph is fine. It offers something great for lower level players and is a good cheap set.

    Yeah, this is the issue.
Morph is better then most builds with actually effort put into them.

Frankly, morph should be the bear bones base line of "I can solo stuff." It should not be a better alternative to most well made builds.
    ________________________________
Also good arguement, if Morph was around the middle of the road for builds anyways.
Considering its somehow pretty top notch, it becomes pretty hard to make a build that better then it, especially when it comes to a balanced play style.
    ________________________________
Also, is there an arguement here besides "It effects me personally, and therefore no."
Cuase, I disagree with samsam for example, but he made arguement, one that can be reasoned for or against, you guys just stated something.

Personally, I think that it should be kept the way it is.
Firstly, some people can't build, and I don't think that being able to finish the storyline (thereby defeating The Eye and AHC) should be locked behind this.

Then ask someone to make a build for you. Or, you know, learn how to build. I’m pretty sure that morph is part of the reason people are so bad at building in the first place. There’s also no way that you can’t afford a build after a full playthrough. The bar for EO and AHC really isn’t that high and morph is miles above it.

And I would agree with you, but I think Morph is past the point of "Being able to finish the storyline."

It doesn't just meant that baseline, it shots past it.

Mine was originally just ''No.'' but I realised that was a pathetic ''point'' and made me look like an idiot so I added an explaination.

That shouldn't be how it works, though. Morph is for people who don't want to bother with builds at all, and it makes the game more approachable for casuals. If you were forced to waste time learning the build system, the game wouldn't be as fun. If you were forced to ask other players for help, the game wouldn't feel truly soloable. Morph allows you to absentmindedly enjoy yourself as you progress through the game. Keep in mind that builds aren't the entire point of the game, after all, as quests, profs and lore are also huge aspects of Wynn. Most people don't want to do all of them at once, and builds would feel like a required thing and not an optional thing

As a mage, I can say that even with the ''incredibly op morph set!!!!!!!'' that the Eye is still incredibly difficult to beat solo and requires a lot of quick reactions and movement. It makes the boss a very fun challenge, but i can see it being OP on some other classes. Maybe on classes with actual DPS, morph should be less effective or something

Not everyone is able to ask others for a build. And even if you learn how to, it doesn't mean you're rich enough to make it.
For me, a Shaman w/ Cryoseism and Morph - EO is pretty hard. Haven't defeated it yet, and before you tell me to stop soloing it and do it with a group of people, I don't have anyone to do it with. And I don't think that completing the main storyline should require you to have friends at level 101 or above...

There’s a difference between being approachable and circumventing the entire system. The game not being “truly soloable” makes no sense. Of course it’s perfectly soloable, granted you put in some effort. To say that class builds are just one aspect of the game makes no sense. The primary way to interact with the Wynncraft world remains combat, whether it be raids, dungeons, quests or general traversal of the world. Given that the item system is a part of that, I see no reason why forcing players to think about their equipment is a bad thing. You’re advocating for morph in specifically the context where requiring build knowledge makes the most logical sense, endgame bosses. You’re making it seem as if class builds are some kind of obscure mechanic for which you need a PhD in statistics, while in reality they’re a basic game mechanic.

Besides, the whole point if the thread wasn’t even to remove morph, just to nerf it. Right now it’s not “just enough” to do everything. It’s a free pass.

What do you mean you don’t have anyone to play with? Make a party, ask around. You seem to be pretty active on the forums. Aledar literally tells you to bring other players for EO, you know. Multiplayer content being important to progression isn’t exactly out of place in an MMO. Nest of the Grootslangs unlocks a tome slot and Orphion’s Nexus of Light even more important to the main storyline. Why is not being able to breeze through everything with a zero-effort build a problem now?

Nerf morph? Sure, go ahead. Especially with the Str/Dex changes inbound.

But your reasoning isn't good- don't nerf it just so people need a "real build"

Not everyone cares about builds, and not everyone likes class building. Morph is a good basic set for those players to go to.

I do not think that players should ignore the main mechanics of a game.
But, I would love to hear what is your image of a "casual Wynn player" since it was not very well defined within the community.

Actually, you bring up a good point there. It will need to be nerfed accordingly with the upcoming str/dex changes

Yeah the ''Truly soloable'' point was bad, I was trying to come up with something to make the repetition to emphasise my point work.
Class builds are more complex for some people, though. I'm not making it seem like you need a PHD or anything, but it's still quite complicated, at least in the eyes of me and many others. I also NEVER implied that this thread wanted Morph removed, just that any nerf to morph at all would make the game a lot harder for ME, as at least for me it is the bare minimum needed to actually play the game and enjoy it. Again, though, I say this as a mage main, I can see it being a lot more overpowered on other classes

I don't really view builds as a main mechanic of the game, they are more of an optional thing to have fun with.
My image of a casual player is somebody who came to the server, whether it be from a youtuber or some news article, who is just here to enjoy and explore the game, never really focusing on specifically builds, professions, lore or quests, just having absentminded fun.

Trust me, I've SEEN people who went through the whole game without doing a single quest (other than area unlocks and some stuff they wanted to randomly do)

you can ignore profs, grinding, dungeons, raids, boss altars, secret discoveries, even quests if you want to, why shouldn't you be able to ignore class builds? being able to ignore any mechanic of the game if you find it boring is one of the best parts of wynn imo, having morph be viable pretty much everywhere does a good job of allowing this with class builds.
just to expand a bit more - it's not necessarily that class builds require a huge amount of effort to understand, it's just that i don't think i should have to put it any effort for it if i don't want to. yes, of course, i can just ask others for builds, and i do do that, but that can take a while and i'd prefer to be able to do endgame stuff without having to wait to find a good build from someone else, or to put in the effort to make my own when i just want to do quests and random lore and wiki stuff.

now, of course, there is still the point that morph is too good for its intended level of "you can solo everything but it'll be decently hard since you're supposed to get an actual build", which is arguable (i'm not entirely sure it's the case for all classes, although considering i can do any raid in morph mage very easily it's definitely a fair point in some cases). but i do think that, if it is nerfed, it should at the very least remain viable for everything in the game, just it'll be noticeably harder than if you have an actual build.
