Some Small Suggestions

Hello there.
Some ideas to improve Wynncraft have been coming up in my head lately, and most of them are not worth a thread each, so I decided to mash them up into a single thread. When more of these come to my head I will keep editing them on on this post.

1: Less grinding on levels.
Even if you do all the quests, grinding can be very present, especially at level ranges like 90-100.
Grinding on grindspots or dungeons can be pretty painful sometimes, so I think the amount of grinding should be reduced. There are 3 ways I provide to make this work.
a) Buff quest XP:
The quest XP could be buffed so the people that have done quests got less grinding time, because I think quests are the best part of Wynncraft, introducing us to different and interesting characters and enveloping us in a very interesting adventure(at least for the first time)..

b) Lower leveling XP req.
Just needing less questing and grinding for a levelup.

c) Buff mob killing and totems XP A HECK FRICKING LOT.
So that you can get more XP from casually killing mobs or just dash through grindspots if you are not in your first class and you just wanna do quests/raids/wars.

2: Make a character lesbian.
I just thought, as there are 3 confirmed gay characters in Wynncraft
-Maxie(from The ENvoy questline, TTF2 and AHC)
-Edula(From D&D 3)
-Sir Pigglesworth(From Lazarus Pit)
So I though: ''Hey, what if there was a lesbian character on Wynncraft''
Junes might be a good option, as she mentions a husband(who is a scaredy-cat), that could be easily switched into a wife and the item lore would be just as good.

3: Awesome bandana lore:
"A brave warrior , after sacrificing himself to beat an extremely strong corrupted, left this lifeforce-infused bandana to give his best friend strenght in the war"
And yes that was a fucking jojo reference(watch it, pretty good show)

I disagree, quest xp was buffed previously and levelling up now is no where near as difficult as it used to be, I wouldn't be against a small boost for xp to monsters but I don't think that's necessary

Yeah, why not. I'm almost certain there is a lesbian character somewhere but why not create a new one, most characters' sexuality isn't really involved in the story anyway so there could easily be a lesbian character who's just not known to be one :)

With that, I meant casuasually mentionimg a character is lesbian by a little detail on a piece of dialogue or a quote in a dungeon item.

 

Every character in Lazarus Pit is canonically transgender.

 

Adding onto that; Aldorei's society is transnormative canonically. There is no lore as to why, but I think given that Orphion really only cares about light, it could be viewed through the lens of gender as some worldly concept with lots of energy put behind it (gendered beauty industry, gendered bathrooms and schools, etc.) that the Aldorei elves have largely given up the effort of enforcing gender in favor of putting that energy towards serving Orphion. At least, that's my interpretation to take with a fat grain of salt, as only them being transnormative (as opposed to cisnormative) is canon.

I would actually love to do this; I think a lot of the uptick in queer (and especially MLM/NBLM characters) in Wynncraft is because people on the content team are part of those groups (ex. I am trans and NBLM, which influences how I view my characters), and because so many people in the CT are M/NBLM, it makes us comfortable in writing those NPCs because we can make authentic, varied representations. I would personally not make a character canonically lesbian entirely on my own, because I know it's a shitty thing to do to make representation written by and for people that aren't who is represented. In the future, I would jump at the opportunity to have other people in the content team and possibly in the community, if possible, be a kind of 'sensitivity reader' for identities we haven't yet represented and guide (for example, the dojo in CotL is considered somewhat problematic, as it was made by people who don't represent the subculture of traditional Chinese martial arts, and as such became a kind of joke/stereotype) - this is something we'd like to avoid.

Only if it's done poorly, the idea that a straight guy can't include a trans or gay character in a film he directs or a book he writes is not only ludicrious but incredibly difficult to have more representation. Careful

There's actually a special word for that! Toric, refers to non binary people who like men, NBLM could be bisexual I suppose as well but it's a good word

Yeah, Sia turned out awfully AND offensive I did hear about that. I do disagree with your 2nd part though as if you go by that certain groups will just never have representation as you will never get a person from that group but it's great that you are all trying to portray groups as accurately and respectfully as is possible :)

I think what I really want to hear about the most is Dern but this might not be the thread for it haha

 

No please Grinding is already too easy if you get the good items and they even greatly buffed it in 1.20 with Xp tomes so defenetely not a good Idea

A small buff to mob xp would be nice. Personally I haven't had much of a problem with grinding since I'm a lower level than what was mentioned in OP but during quests I get like 0 xp from mobs even if I kill a bunch of them. And grinding is starting to take a while, and since there's usually levels where there are no quests... yeah there should be a small buff to mob xp.

As much as I like the idea of having inclusivity in the game, I don’t think adding characters as “this or that” just to have one is a good idea. Multiple people I talk to dislike it when a game sorta forces in a person just for diversity. It kinda makes it seem forced and rude. If a character was added that was lesbian for their character personality and arc then yea! Otherwise not the best imo

I think the general idea is that it's pretty rare an NPC's story would actually be strongly affected by their sexuality - it's not like a TV show, where you'd follow each individual character closely. IMO casually putting a reference to their sexuality (e.g, Sir Pigglesworth in Lazarus Pit), even when there's no actual reason to 'have it' is fine, it just so happens that they're not cishet - there's no reason for that to feel forced imo.
And also, like Quint said, who's to say that Wynn is as hetero/cis-normative as the real world? Maybe the majority of people you meet are queer in some way, you just don't know it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Geez now I feel bad for posting something that has got so many negative replies xD
I personally like those small references cause it sorta normalizes it, sexuality does not normally define a character's personality, just like casually finding it makes me feel nice, IDK why, but that and having a keen eye on the text&getting a tiny lore reward just tingles my brain's reward system for some reason.
