World The Slime Problem + Town Complaints

    Ignore the slime part of this thread. It was just a wynntails bug.

    So I would like to talk about two things with towns. Respawning and town guards.

    Simply put, the respawning to the town closest to you works most of the time, but in certain quests such as Fate of the Fallen where if you die in the past area you get sent back to Ragni instead of Nesaak, or Wynn Excavation Site C where you respawn in Ternaves instead of some closer place to the quest like Selchar. In short, when it comes to quests I think a special thing for respawning should be added if possible.

    Now lets talk about the big issue with towns, that being how unsafe a lot of them are.
    You will have likely heard a good few stories of people who went afk in a supposedly safe towns, only to come back to have lost most, if not all, of their items.
    Now one might say "don't afk" which is a stupid response as towns are supposed to be safe given the guards and the anti invasion rule.

    How might one fix this then? There are a few options. The first and likely easiest would be to make it so you can't take damage while in a town area. A few members of CT have said that this would break a few quests, but you could just copy paste the town with world edit, move that part of the quest to happen there, and then add a teleport. This is obviously possible as it's done in quests like Wynn Excavation Site D with Troms.
    Another option is improving guards to the level of Corkus City guards and adding more walls. This is not nearly as good, however.



    One last thing really quick I want to mention, there should also be a bit of work done into fixing minor things in some quests that can be super frustrating, like the Temple of Time not having a way to get out, or certain parkours (like in Realm of Light IV) not letting you use spells but still letting you take fall damage, or the nether portal cutscene on the bridge making it so you fall into a barrier case you cannot get out of if you don't move quickly enough. Issues like these are simple to fix but would end a lot of frustration when doing certain quests.

    Anyways, that's what I have to say on the topic. Say any thoughts you have and vote on what you agree with!

    I think the problem with the town respawn mainly is that that the closest town near some of theses place are acctualy the towns you spawn in due to them being outside of the map. Its just not logical because the place you enter and exit the quest most likely isn’t near that town. Ternaves is still unexplained if that was the case though. Because of lutho and rymek being closer to the map edge

    This is the issue. But the point with Ternaves is true, which is strange.

    This bug is so annoying! When I was struggling with the quest "A Journey Beyond" I kept dying and being teleported to Lusco of all places. It was truly disheartening and discouraging to not only die in a quest, but to then be teleported thousands of blocks away.


    Just today in Nesaak I was ambushed by a key guardian in the bank, and when I tried trading with my alt right outside he got killed by a Frostbite. All towns need to be made secure, and we should be immune to damage while trading too! I lost a valuable Orca Steel ingredient because of that Frostbite, and it didn't even drop on the ground- it just vanished (Another issue that needs correcting).

    Personally, I think the best way to fix this would to give everyone immunity after you die, until you move (not including being pushed). It, presumably at least, wouldn't be too hard to implement, and would stop people from ever dying multiple times while afk. Of course, this wouldn't help protect you if you're just underlevelled or something, so guards should be improved too, but I do think afk immunity would be quicker/better.
    Yes! Exactly! Why can't I use heal spell if I fall while in a parkour, game? What about spin? War scream? Totem? Nope, just have to go through and hope you don't take even more fall damage before you finish it.

    While I agree with these points, I don't think they're too practical to put in (for the town-related points). Some quests are just close to the borders of towns/respawn spots and there isn't much you can do to change that, since it's usually quests which I'd imagine would take too much effort to move closer to its related respawn spot. Like for instance, dying in a section of Dwarves and Doguns will respawn you in Ternaves because it's simply closest to the quest area (although I don't see why it would spawn you there instead of Rymek or Lusuco).

    So ya, just an opinion and I have no experience and I fully agree with the points made, I just don't think it's practically possible for the respawning.

    In terms of the town-killing, I would say that a no-damage zone would be an interesting addition - like a meditation room or garden in each town where you cannot be damaged and can afk, like for instance the Detlas airship, or maybe a sauna in Rodoroc. (Or of course, simply encourage /class to go afk).

    As for quest spells, I think it can get frustrating but it stops the player from cheating. I mean, if I get the opportunity to teleport-spam to skip quest parkour, I will. Such so, spells should be disabled, but something along the lines of either no fall damage in the quest, or a natural healing effect in the area would work well, especially if it could be tied into the quest somehow.

    But ya those are just my thoughts :like:

    With the respawn it's not the biggest issue but can be annoying. Also with the quest thing, might've forgot to say, but what I think would be the best fix for that specific thing would just be making it so you don't take fall damage in that room. Having you not be able to use spells is fine most of the time.

    I 100% agree with the unsafe towns because there are even experienced players who were unaware of mob problems which sometimes even contain mob spawning in a specific city best to call out for that Is Lutho( A place where most people have pretty expensive gear).
    Also from the very start Wynn wanted towns to be safe.
    Now towns are even safe zones for hunter mode which also should tell that towns are meant to be safe.
    But people are still losing tons of gears every week or day because they are unaware off that mob issue which is most likely caused by guards which are so useless that you can literally remove them and nobody would notice it and also Mob spawning inside Lutho.

    7-10min of unaware Lutho afking lost me my old 75% lq gear tons of powders from like few thousands chest and tm returns just because I wanted to make me some food.
