Not quite the 1 year anniversary of this thread yet, but nonetheless it's become very relevant again as we find ourselves playing xp overkill 2: electric boogaloo!! Due to a binding contract I am sorry to inform you that there'll be no 3 paragraphs of crude insults this time, but that's okay cause we have twice the screenshots for your entertainment.
Tl;dr due to an influx of multiplicative bonuses and lowered level requirements, xp is about as connected to reality as GME share prices. By grinding in a party at Frozen Fort, using the 300% xp multiplier territories provide along other buffs (raid charm, tomes, both of which are multiplicative as well), you get to relax as comically high xp returns make 2016 guild leaders turn in their graves. Really not trying to call out the guild here, can't blame them for taking advantage of something consciously designed that way. Anyway, that's about a billion xp within 10 minutes from a single person which, you might understand is a bit problematic when combined with lowered level requirements.
It also takes significantly less to stay alive at that grind spot compared to other runners-up, though the actual issue definitely is the multiplicative nature of those boosts and the abundance thereof. Oh and you could also just throw in a mob damage boost, never thought I'd complain about guild perks being too good.

Anyway, as for a solution, I think this unanimously upovted proposal by @Goden is pretty straightforward:

AVO is a BAD guild! They own ALL TERRITORIES in the sky islands! THIS IS UNFAIR FOR ALL OTHER GUILDS!!! From all of their territories they get SO MUCH XP AND TOMES! THEY ACTUALLY GAIN TOMES! I mean I've talked about this to ERN on several occasions but I can talk about it again.

XP sharing seems bugged.

As shown in your screenshot, Mango toes has gotten a whopping 90 million xp/minute whilst grinding guild xp. That being said, he cannot get anything close to this alone. We aren't entirely sure how it works, but from what we understand:
If a mob gives 10k xp when killed, if 2 people do half the damage of the mob it should give 10k xp to both of them. However, it seems as if 2 people kill that mob now, one person will get 20k xp and one person will get 0xp.

This means that Magnum toast is getting 90m xp/minute, and the guildmates grinding with him are getting only a couple thousand xp/min, seemingly irrelevant on that bot but they're putting equally as much work into grinding xp. That 90m can be divided by the amount of people grinding to figure out how much xp it's actually giving per person per minute.

We don't know how it decides whom to give all of the xp to, or when to feed all the xp to one person, but we suspect it has got to do something with the UUID or maybe date joined. No such pattern has been found yet.

That 18b in one day was not because of guild xp being broken. It's because we have teams of people constantly grinding as we work towards our collective goal. A more fitting nerf might be towards the charms that are multiplicative.

That still should not be the case. They reduced level reqs on the basis that they “thought” it would be harder to level but clearly high xp is still very achievable but they completely nerfed level reqs so you can level insanely fast.

This is an intended target on AVO which is funny but thank goodness not a pity cost thread god I am sick of these but I must add something...

This is literally what we're doing using a feature that was added to encourage guilds to grind up in parties and farm areas such as Frozen Fort for Levels, member slots, cosmetic badges, bank (high-rank included), Don't see what the problem is sorry we're beating the current running highest level guild.

Edit: Yes this might be oudated, but how does a guild grow further in player count and community? More member slots, how do we get them? Levelling up in groups!

 

Yeah, nerf the tomes that give a 70% multiplicative bonus at max and are a random chance to roll (keeping in mind 70 requires 2 max roll tomes).

NOT the 300% multiplicative bonus that you can just enable on a whim which is over 4 times as powerful.

Edit here: as stated in the screenshot literally just make it additive, I do not care if AVO's successful or not with what they're doing--if you guys can organize grind parties and have a goal good for you--the point is that 300% multiplicative bonus in ANY part of the game is insanely powerful and additive makes far more sense considering it's still quite the significant increase (note that the 300% would also be multiplied by tome shit anyway likely, meaning it's still crazy probably)

 

The problem isn’t necessarily with AVO or even the xp. It’s the level reqs because Salted absolutely butchered them thinking it would be harder to level which isn’t the case haha. .

 

You say that like grinding an entire level of 50B is easy, even with 3-4 people in a group grinding on that chart, well then be my guest but don't keep targeting guilds on a server which you barely bother with even with Frozen Fort buffs it'd still not attract you into the scene.
