World Remove Profs From Quests

    I originally posted this suggestion a while back in 1.20 discussion so I'm moving it here, and good a pretty good amount of people saying they don't like them: https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/remove-profs-from-quests.280890/

    Why are you forcing players a mandatory grind to do a quest.

    - If your doing profs, its recommended by almost every player to have a maxed class

    - nowhere in these quests needs profs, and it doesn't make sense to have them. you get a little prof exp from the end, but sill. (also don't add a random bolder you have to break or smth to justify the profs)

    - professions need a rework on how players get XP for it, BUT adding prof reqs to quests is NOT the right solution to this

    - you need to do the grind on multiple classes, which I personally dislike

    One more thing:
    Adding profs to quests sets a precedent that they may add quests in the future with much higher prof requirements. Many people are justifying profs by saying "its not that hard of a grind", but letting it happen now allows it to happen in future quests. (also btw I disagree, you shouldn't have to do profs at all, and if its "not that hard" then why add an unnecessary waste of time anyways?)

    Possible solution: Dynamic quests
    If you have the needed experience to do the profession related part of the quest, it will have a quest stage involving said profs. If you don't have the levs, it will supplement something else. (maybe a non-profs version of the same thing, or another NPC doing it for you, thoughts on these ideas pls)

    Dynamic quests have already been kinda done with The Feathers Fly. Great suggestion!

    I had the idea to have profs give better rewards if you have them. Like in shadow of the beast, with the wood gathering part, you could just pick up some sticks off the ground and get the quest done quick, or if you have the prof level you could cut down trees and get 5eb or whatever as a bonus reward.

    Or much simpler solution: Remove the level requirements, keep the material requirements and change some quests (like Rise of Quartron) where they have no good reason to be

    yeah probably, getting the levels for the few late 40 early 50 combat level quests was annoying enough tbh, it just made the 40's worse than it needed to be

    I seriously wouldn't mind prof quests IF they had their own page in the questbook
    I don't even mind them as they are, level 20 in all profs is an easy grind. I would still prefer if they had their own page though.

    Yes, if they were separate, side quests

    The thing is, it is only a mindless grind, although easy.

    Also this is a dangerous precedent, as they might add reqs for lv. 50-100, which is just bad

    I have a cool idea for how to make them actually entertaining but I don't know how I'd make it balanced

    That is different suggestion I suppose.

    Still, professions, are side thing, not meant to be done by everyone on all classes. And you still couldn't make them short and not-grind because thats what they are about...

    im fine the way it is
    the only quests that needed prof is the shadow of the beast and crop failure
    and none are hard
    it should take 30 minutes
    and then for crop failure you should take around 1-5minutes (due to prof xp from shadow of the beast)

    30 minutes of grind you will never use again.
    Also, as I said previously, it is a dangerous precedent. Would you like to grind all gatherings on all classes to level 50 or even more just for 1 quest? Because that is what might happen if this trend continues.

    rise of the quartron: exist for no reason, you get just double money reward if u got mining 10 and open the mineshaft despite requiring lvl 15. DELETE REQUIREMENTS
    Crop failure: hmm yes lets check the barely WHEN THERE IS A WHEAT FIELD RIGHT NEXT TO IT, ffs, if you gonna embrace the prof req, at least make it lvl 10 since secret discoveries are now starting to require lvl 1-10 gathering. summerise: make the barely a wheat and nothing would change
    Shadow of the beast: lets cut woods in terrible region to cut woods in instead of going to the lumberward nearby that was just fine as before, then proceed to fix someone's roof with lvl 10 cobble despite requiring lvl 20, cobble could be again, lvl 1 and nothing would change, then proceeds to help villagers that are being burnet alive by fishing slowly salmon oil from nearby pond. idk chief, i think those guys are anti-vexxers, cuse i dont think oils are good help after being crushed by a giant, aka, fucking let us get medkit from olux instead of fishing.
