Idea: Extension To Dern Questline. [spoiler To Some Of Dern Series Currently]

I always found the dern questline not going to deep into the lore. so im giving an idea for 2 more quests in the dern questline and a raid like challenge at the end.
[Second quest page coming soon] ALSO much of the rune lore is PART of the suggestion im trying to fit it in with our current lore as much as possible! Alll the lore with the runes is explained at the end.

Quest idea 1: The Runic Masters
Lvl req lvl 99

Step 1: Meet Azrius by the aldoeri uth altar.

Dialogue:

Azrius: Hey! I'm guessing your a Fruma solider? you seem stronger than any other solider I've seen. Infact, I think I could use your help. you might notice this robe i have. Well, its no ordinary one. I'm the leader of the Az guild. Masters of the Az rune. Normally all the runes are stable but something is strange about the uth altar here. I can feel an unstable aura in the uth shrine. Maybe we can find out what's wrong. Meet me by the forgery. I need to show you something.

Step 2: Meet Azrius at the forgery.

Azrius: Good your here! Now this is a very secret location so make sure nobody can see us.

Follow Azrius to the forgery until he stops in the middle of the portal area.

Azrius: You might think there is nothing here but watch this.

Azrius: (In Wynnic) Open The Runic Passage!

The spell he preforms will open a portal in the center of the portal area.

Follow Azrius inside and walk through the large hallway with Azrius until you reach a large circular meeting room.

There you can see 4 other runemasters for the nii, uth, tol, and ek masters (Ek rune is unused but still in the textures this quest is for if the ek rune is used.)

Ek Master: What news do you bring us this time Azrius? And why is that outsider here!

Azrius: Calm down he is a friend. And he will be helping us with the bad news I bring.

Nii Master: So you do have news! Well whats the problem?

Azrius: The uth altars are unstable. Somthings going on with the runes. This might mean our protection methods might not work soon!

Uth Master: We have been using the same protection spell for a few thousand years that does make sense. Human, you will come with us and bring a Golden Avia Feather too!

A portal will open at the end of the room that will teleport you to the uth altar. Once you bring the feather give it to Azrius to continue the quest.

Azrius: alright here goes nothing.

Azrius will then walk up to the altar and insert the feather. The altar will then make several noises and emmit water particles before the nearby terrain is covered in blue cracks. And all entities nearby will jump.

Nii Master: Gah!
Uth Master: Ahh!
Tol Master: Ahh!
Azrius: Agg!
Ek Master: Ahh!

Ek Master. You're right! There is somthing wrong with the uth altar!

Uth Master: Hold On Let Me Try to fix it!

The Uth Master will then pull out a tier 3 skin water wand and make a beam of particles twards the altar. Causing the altar to explode creating a bunch of spikes made of blue stained glass to replace the altar.

Azrius: {Playername} you're the strongest one here! I think it just created a cave under that altar. that could mean something. bring back anything that could explain the instability.

Enter the teleporter in the middle of the spikes and fall through the tunnel into a pool of water. where you will be met with an arena filled with the blue spikes and cracks. enter the arena and fight the Uth Core.

Uth Core Stats

300 Water Defense

250 Water Damage

Spells: Wave, Teleport, Arrowstorm (Projectiles are Uth Runes) and burst fire.

236k Hp

Once you defeat the uth core he will drop an unstable uth shard and an exit will open. Exiting causes you to launch out of the entrance. Then give the unstable uth shard to Azrius.

Azrius: Oh your back! And you brought this... Uthlar can you tell what this is

(Uthlar is the Uth Masters Real Name)

Uthlar: Thats an unstable shard. Azrius you did the right thing to bring us here. But this instability is strange. I think its dernic power. Wait. Hey I know someone who can lead you to the runemaster. For now take this as a thanks for your help!

You will then complete the quest and get 1 le along with 250k combat xp and 3 of each rune.

Quest Idea 2: Runic
Combat min lvl 104

Meet the runemaster in the Lutho alleyways.

Runemaster: Ah hello human! Wait your not darkened like the others here. I'm guessing you were the survivor of Elphaba's mission to the end of the expanse. How is she? Oh.... I.. see.
What a tragedy the great warrior she was. Oh I almost forgot! I need to introduce myself!

And now you are for some random reason at tcc entrance. Why??

Yes, we are stronger that 5 ancient rune guardians, sure...


Imo this quest doesn't make much sense. If you solve Uth, why meet all 4 masters? The lore you introduce seems to be a bit mess. Like the idea of having more about runes is good, but the implementation is imo bad.
How it would be possible to improve it:
1) Focus on only one rune (this case Uth)
2) Do not introduce some weird and mystical cult of all runes
3) you could try to explain why you need golden avia feather, which would be amazing.

I know I'm in gavel I'm suggesting to add this WHEN ek rune comes out. runes don't get a lot of attention in the story despite having relation to corruption also wynn does that when they say "You are stronger then me" When they're literally a province hero also runes are mainly in gavel but have wynnic origin because they relate to corruption with corrupted dungeons also tcc uses runes being a raid thats around the level of the quest level. and yes i will put spoilers

Runes are what give acsess to corrupted dungeons with keys so their power can open portals to corrupyted things like maybbe DERN

also tcc had a decent method of enterance. also runes being a gate opener of sorts and tcc having the border between the canyon and sky islands is semi simalar

They open a portal to future (or possoble future), where Wynn is consumed by Corruption. It is just a portal, it is not connected to Corruption.
And yes, you could open portal to Dern with them, but that doesn't mean they have connection to it.

Also a hunters calling with is very dern quest makes you go into a timeline where corruption and darkness wins. making dern related to runes in a way

You only have to travel to tcc because the nearest raid is based on light and i kinda dont see runes relating to light
so thats why i didnt make it NOL

1) Bak'al is not Dark, he is only Corrupted serving Dern Beast (but the Corruption itself does NOT serve Dern!!!)
2) Dern and Corruption are 2 completely different things
3) You didn't explain any of these and didn't even hint towards it. Also those are already explain in quests and secret discoveries

 

1: Tcc is min lvl 95 which is the closest raid to the level of the quest also it provides a good example of an enternce to the big meeting room place
2: runes work simalar to the very dern related quest a hunders calling where both take you to a world where darkness won
3: i know its in gavel because thats where runes are used the most the only rune thing outside gavel is the tol alter in se and uth altar in corkus but i dint do it for the corkus altar because corkus storyline has nothing to do with dern as we know so far
the quest is called the runic masterS so it relates to multible runes

Bakal relates to dern because in the se ultamate discovery bakal has a meeting with the king of dern and bakal says that he spread the king of dern figure things fear all across wynn also the metting with the most likely king of dern has the creation of the eye which is dern DERN DERN DERn

And if Corkus has nothing to do with runes, why do you need Golden Avia Feather? And why is a Uth shrine in Avos territory? (spoiler: both pure content)

 

Youll get all the rest explained in the quest suggestion that takes place after a hunters calling being the last and final quest in the game and the suggestion quest takes place inside se which is the road to dern

Then you probably should include that so your suggestions doesn't seem that nonsensical.
Because from what I see now there is not a word about Dern in the quest, with quite a few parts being incorrect.

No? Darkness and Corruption are 2 different things. Again, runes only make portals. Where and when are different things.

And the only shrine (ok, maybe ToL but thats an altar)

the only reason its a golden avia is because corkus is the same level as the lavel for uth altar. if you actualy do the corkus part of a hunters calling and do the lore discoveris of corkus youll see why its not dern related but goes into the lore of fruma

 

Since your quests are about lore, maybe make ingame reason for that?
