Idea: New Boss Villian "sign"

When it comes to evil characters wynncraft goes to big and threatening but it seems to lack small powerful characters other then the orange wybel but its merely a boss altar and an li boss. I was thinking of a character with a similar style to Undertale's flowery but different enough to make it just as good. I introduce sign.

If sign is a boss:

Step 1 Go to the detlas bank and head upstairs to find a door that leads to the banks attic. go into the attic where you meet the first instance of sign.


Dialogue:

Oh hey I'm sign! What are you doing in this attic?

Don't know? Same with me.

I just like to go around the provinces looking around cities.

Wait that accent is familiar. Let me guess frumian?

I've heard bad things about fruma but I guess you're a soldier.

Whelp I think I'm going to move to another city soon. See you around.

Step 2: Go to Ragni castle and look behind the throne. There a letter can be found

"I've met a frumian today in detlas. I don't see a lot of those here in wynn. He seems like a nice guy. Who knows i might see him when hanging around Cinfras."

Step 3: Go to the cinfras center there sign can be seen in the middle of the city.

Sign will then say:

"Oh hey its you again nice to meet you. Man I've been rather down lately maybe fishing can cheer me up but I don't have a rod or bait."

"Wait you have legs and arms! Can you go grab a rod from a store or something?"

Proceed to go to the guild hall and go right and up the stairs where a fishing merchant can be seen. Buy a bait and a rod from the merchant and meet sign at the south coast of gylia lake.

He will then say this:

"Oh you brought me some bait and a rod? Thank you so much!"

He will the proceed to cast the rod into the lake then this happens:

"Hold on... I think I've caught something!"

A few splashes happen in the lake where then a gylia fish flies at your head and knocks you out.

When you wake up a wool bed a few seconds later you can see sign In front of you.

This is where the first sight of his inner evil will appear.

"Oh you're awake finally. But wait thats not supposed to happen..."

After sign says the line two large tentacles made of wood come out of the ground and reach towards you knocking you out again.

Once you wake up you are by a tree the size of the elfin tree hanging in a wooden cage. To break out you have to jump multiple times to break the bottom falling into a puddle of water.

Behind you will be a cave with a stone bridge leading over a large underwater river where tree roots can be seen drinking out of . once across the bridge a large room will be there having sign stand in the middle.

Interacting with him will boast a large amount of dialogue.

Oh? so you finally woke up again eh? Don't worry i wont do what i did last time anymore.

I might as well reveal what I'm really doing here.

I used to be just a normal tree living on a clifftop. oh the view was great. Nothing was harming me. i was just enjoying the time i had there. Then the frumians came and well they chopped me down.

I woke up as a label for the queens throne room inside the fruma royal castle. Oh the terrible things that queen did to innocent citizens I think I saw you once being sent away to wynn. Then a few years later a raid happened and i was taken down. I realized i could use underground tree roots to move locations.

Thats when it started. my revenge. I was seen active in detlas a few months later and taken to that attic where tree roots were nowhere. it wasn't until you came that i had my chance. i grabbed onto your foot and got to the nearest tree. from there i made it to cinfras. then you know what happened. after what i saw that queen for years i got angered with revenge. Now its your turn to have punishment...

After that you will be teleported to an identical room where sign will now have a health bar above him. he has very high earth and water defense and does a big chunk of earth damage.

Spells and phases:


In his first phase he will summon minions called animate wood chunks and a lot of them. each minion will have about 1k hp. In his first phase sign has 200k hp. Sign doesn't move at all but can do long range multihit and occasionally wave and meteor. this phase will go on until he is at 50k hp where he will go to the second phase. He will start spamming wave in all directions 3 times before many wooden spikes come out of the ground if a player is standing in a spot where a spike grows 20% of their hp is taken away. after this attack meteor spell will rain everywhere for about 5 seconds each meteor doin 1000 earth damage. after you deal 300k damage to sign the third phase will begin. where he will make a pattern of using wave in all directions before 4 meteors all start in a random spot in the arena. this will repeat 4 times before invisible mobs named upcoming attack will apart around the area before each one will start spamming multihit or 5 seconds. after that repeats 5 times sign will go into his last and hardest stage. where meteor is spammed everywhere and is unpredictable. this will continue until 500k damage is dealt to sign where he will then be killed and the player is teleported to detlas being rewarded with a fabled earth weapon based on the class. each version will be named respectively.

Archer: Signs bent stem

Warrior: Signs Revenge

Mage: Signs Magic

Shaman: Signs mindscape.

Assasin: Signs Memory.

Each weapon will give -3 3rd spell cost and do 267 earth damage along with an active ability that can be triggering by sneaking. the ability is called Signs Attack where when activated will make a circle of 8 meteor spells regardless of the class.

Extra stats of the weapon include +56 main attack damage
+2/4s mana regen
and +65 Spell damage.


The secret quest of sign will not be featured in quest book but still will require lvl 83 in combat to start.

 

i think a world encounter flowey-like character would be really cool, but i think it would be better to see him around a bunch of random spots in the world first, eventually finding him somewhere near the dern portal(again, just an idea). the tree thing is a little weird and seems kinda random tho, him being a strange otherworldly entity would be cooler imo, as a tree just seems underwhelming

He hates you
He's a sapient thing that isn't usually sapient
He has an interesting backstory

Alternatively you could use Professor Djemble or Professor Depumbly since those can/used to be found around the map and seemed friendly

Ok to start, Why? I like the idea of more random events in wynn but Undertale refrence..........:/
Second, your lore makes no sence

So he activly sees you being punished when u did nothing wrong, then attacks you for it? It would make more sence if you activly did something against him. Like you chopped him down, you put him up as a sign, you sent away innocents. YOU commited the crime. Rn he just sounds like an angsty teen.

Third:
Holy goat shit that weapon can b very op.

-3rd spell is great as is, but ok lets go on. 267 earth dmg cool here's the question, what attack speed? Also SP requirements? Other stats? the weapon isnt layed out well. ok so your assassin, you get the dmg buff from the EIGHT METOERS at 200% EACH, thats basically 300 main earth dmg and then other modifiers(+200% dmg from metor + 80% overall dmg increase from vanish). thats like
instant death to anything around you 0/10 very broken (mind you i make broken shit all the time and this dont look balanced at all). Also is there a cooldown??? or can u just do it every second. (lmao EO speedrun using this weapon vip_sans)

I like the idea, cool and fun for game, however poorly done with examples/Undertale/wtf op weapon.
would be good if rebalanced and lore was corrected, also the lore isnt very deep. like to sum it up its "oh boy hello again, lets go fishing, fuck you tree roots"
if the lore was depend/you had other small random events that he was involved in that would be good. Also add passive agressive events like he sees you cutting down a tree (for profs) you accidentally kick him etc, just something where we activly harm him and he "forgives us" and goes on, but irl he uses that as furl for his tween angery fire.
