The Orphion beta is out right now but it's pretty much dead because nobody is bothering to test it. They'll go on, beat the raid ONCE, then just go back to playing regular old wynn. To people like me who just want to keep going, this is annoying. I would recruit people on discord but the main issue with that is that i dont use discord and i dont plan to

So what could get people to test features? Well, a basic incentive would do. Here's my idea:
On a hero beta, there would be a special chart in either the lobby or the compass. By completing tasks in the beta, you could get points that can be used to get cool things in the live servers. The items also depend on the beta's content. The amount of points needed also depends on the amount of people who'll play the beta so it's not overpowered. Ways to get points could be ''play for x amount of hours (probably abusable cause people could afk so maybe give betas an afk timer)'' or ''complete x amount of new content''. Prizes could include:

    Exclusive Pets
    Exclusive weapon skins
    Emeralds
    Bombs
(they all have to be cosmetic/full server so that it isn't P2W. Emeralds would come in smaller quantities so it wouldn't be too bad for the economy)

Even if this isn't the way to make more people test content, I still want a way to make more people test stuff like this because I don't want this stuff to come out really buggy and bad. I'm sorry if this feels like one of those ''oh im having a personal problem so im gonna suggest a solution for it'' threads but I just wanted to get this off my chest

I really like this idea, it would solve a lot of the problems that currently exist with the hero beta that salted mentioned, however the fact that you can get emeralds may create some backlash. Bombs and crates (that contain weapon skins and pets) would be a nice reward that wouldn't change the game as much and benefit everyone, however it may devalue the bombs and crates that you buy from the shop and decrease revenue for wynncraft. Maybe they could be made pretty rare or hard to get? Anyways, this is definitely a step in the right direction.

while this could be neat, it turns the draw of hero beta from "test/play new content" to "earn all the of exclusive rewards then dip" and once everyone gets that stuff, then the same issue occurs. The beta wasn't dead when the main 1.20 update was being tested, it just seems to be an issue with the orphion beta (probably because people would rather just play 1.20 on live then test a raid they'll do once or twice, if at all)

i also know a buncha people who tested the TCC raid a lot arent willing to test orphion because when that raid was being tested, salted was insistent on rushing the update out, so most of the rebalancing and polishing TCC needed just wasnt done (basically people are burnt out testing stuff for salted only for him to ignore our feedback)

I would love to see some sort of incentive to test stuff, but I also would worry it would lead to people just trying to get as many points or whatever as possible rather than testing every feature. Maybe if the reward was for the amount of issues found or the amount of feedback or something, but that may just incentivize making a lot of low-quality reports on as many minor details as possible instead of looking for large errors.

That was one of the ideas I thought of implementing but I feared that people would just report every single fucking error they see to get as many points as possible

One solution that might work would be reward per hour of playtime. While that's not necessarily perfect, the most entertaining stuff to do would be the new content, and the more time spent doing it, the more issues will theoretically be found.

They could set it up so players who go afk are automatically kicked and set up some specific rules about afking in the beta.
