World Territory And Loot Chest Interactions

?

Do you think that, if possible, guild territories should NOT hard level loot chests?

Man, I feel like the community really can't stop finding ways to bash guilds at the moment. between Guild Experience, Prof Experience, and a plethora of other issues-

In all seriousness, I believe 1.18 to be one of the greatest and worst updates of Wynncraft. I absolutely love professions and even with the flaws it has, the trade market is insane. To be able to create that inside of another game entirely. Crazy, really.
But the changes that caused guild territories to affect loot chest levels just is so... I don't want to say stupid, because I'm sure there was a reason behind it, but it feels stupid.

I don't mind the Tier 3 and Tier 4 chest slashes, at all. I think that was much needed. But to entirely delete creative loot routes throughout the entirety of the map just feels really harsh. As someone who's mapped the entirety of Corkus, spending multiple days of playtime thoroughly exploring the same areas over and over again to maybe fine a single Tier 1 chest that I maybe missed before, it feels really bland to have little reason to explore other areas of the map. At least thoroughly.

I love the aesthetic of other areas of the map, but I just don't have a reason to spend time in them, at least if I'm trying to be efficient. They're still fun to go around and explore when I just want to vibe and chill with some friends. I'm just extremely tired of going to lower level zones and finding new loot chests that don't feel exciting to find. Compared to discovering every hidden area and secret there is in Corkus over the past handful of years, which has always been exciting- at least for a while. In 1.18, Corkus didn't take much of a territory hit, at least it didn't feel that way because there was still a vast amount of chests around the zone. Even if it was technically the largest slash. But in 1.19 and 1.20, the territories became increasingly larger and covered more areas of the island. About 50% of the run got slashed in 1.18, and another 25% of that in 1.19, and another 50% of the remaining has recently been slashed due to territory changes and adjustments in the 1.20 update.

Of course, you can still loot run Corkus just fine... If you want uhh... Apocalypse!!! But otherwise it just feels insanely lackluster.

I've made loot runs for lower level areas, constantly keeping a territory map open. If I find a chest that's outside of a territory, it's fantastic! I get really excited and it's just really great. But when a chest is inside a territory? It just feels worthless. I won't ever be able to do anything with it, even if it's away from mobs, or I can kill the surrounding ones. It's just isn't the feeling that exploring this insanely fun map should give. I love that I still find new things every time I go out, after being in these areas for up to seven and a half years, some. It's so well done, but there's this huge flaw that puts a bit of gloom over it all.

I really just wish I could feel as much excitement from exploring the map as I could otherwise if the territory leveling wasn't there. I don't see how it has much of an effect- because if you're a higher level player and want to loot run for lower level items/ingredients, you absolutely still can. The mobs are all there until you kill them. The chests will still level to surrounding mobs. It's just frustrating having to weave between guild territories when making new and innovative loot routes. If there's a more serious reason as to why this change was brought into the game, I absolutely understand. But I think myself and many others can say that it'd be much appreciated if it was considered to be reverted, if it even can be.

Thanks a ton for reading the long post. If you want a tldr, I guess the last paragraph sums it up kinda?

Okay, I read through the changelog again but saw nothing about guild territories affecting chests in any way. Could you elaborate what the problem is?

To sum it up, all loot chests have a loot table based on a level and +-4 levels.
Prior to 1.18, this level scaled strictly off mobs in the surrounding area, and if there were none, your player level. Meaning that if you killed all the mobs around a chest in the jungle, you could have level 89 to level 97 loot, assuming you were running at level 93.

Now, guild territories have an effect on this level. All of Corkus territories are level 85. So any chest in a territory is going to have loot 81-89. Any loot in the Jungle will have loot 61-69, etc.

If a chest is currently outside of a territory, it will have the old rules applied still.

Old Priority: (Mob Level > Player Level)
New Priority: (Mob Level > Territory Level > Player Level)
Though there’s a current 1.20 bug that causes the order to be (Territory Level > Mob Level > Player Level), but that actually makes Rodoroc better lol, funny enough. But I wasn’t talking about the bug in my main post.

The issue is just that territories should not have an effect on chest level whatsoever, in my opinion.
