Hey, so I've heard some of you guys have been having trouble finding groups for raids?
Well, do I have the solution for you! Scale raids around the party's total level.

The idea is, instead of having a total party level cap, you instead have the raid scale with the total parties level!
So, a party with a total level of 320 will have the same balance as the raid currently does, but a party with a total level of 420 will instead be balanced around 4 level 105s running the raid.

This actually has quite a few unseen benefits!
Not only would it be easier to find groups of players, but it would also allow Salted to make raids at lower levels. One of the issues with a total level party cap is it means you can't add lower-level raids, simply because it would lock out characters that have already hit the level cap. For example, a raid with a total level of 200 could never exist, because people wouldn't be able to retroactively do it, but not anymore!

Right, and removing the total level cap, so you can have 4 players of any level enter.
Find parties to run raids will no longer be difficult because you can take any 4 players as long as they meet the minimum level.

Yes, and apply this to every other raid as well. I hate the stupid level requirement so much.

Ive heard this mentioned before, but IIRC salted said no as it would require the entire system of how raids work to be changed, but if it could be done I fully support this suggestion.

The party level cap is just preventing players from accessing the raid when they want, if I want to do Ragni's sewer for example I do not want to get kicked out because I'm level 30, I like this idea a lot, however making a difficulty scaling might not be that easy either for the CT team.

It would work if there were "difficulty caps", for example from 320 to 360 it would be normal difficulty, from 360-400 and more a "scaled" difficulty

the problem with this suggestion is that it basically only affects grootslang. (ohpirion is meant to be run at lvl 105 with 4 players like tcc, but since its technically the climax of rol5 it does allow you to do it with a party of 6 lvl ~80s.) while it would be nice, it would require a full rework of raids to basically make finding a party for 1 of them easier.

I think this would kinda remove the point for ONL and TCC because if your gonna scale the difficulty you have to scale the rewards as well so it will just become which one you find the funnest

    You don't though?

First off, both raids have tomes unquie to them, which is reason enough someone might want to run one vs the others.

Second off, everyone needs to do grootslaying once to unlock a tome slot, so people would do that.

I dont quite see a reason you would scale the rewards with that said.

I would be concerned about how well some things would scale; part of the challenge of doing content at lower levels is often the things available to the player, not just damage and health. That being said, I think they'd be able to work out most of the kinks with some testing, and that would make a lot of the content much more accessible.

The xp wouldnt be able to scale to the whole party. The issue is if a full group of 105s bring in a 54, the xp would be scaled to level 92, I think you see the issue.

More then likely, you would either scale the xp to each individual, if you wanted scaling, or not scale it at all.

A bump to this little thread.
The Groot Slaying maybe solved, but this still allows the GMs to add a way of making lower-level raids.
