A Buff To Exploding: Mini-explosions

    I'd like to see these buffs to the Exploding ID:
    • Exploding can trigger on hit (chance to proc = Exploding %), causing a Mini-Explosion.
    • Mini-Explosions deal only 1/2 the damage of a normal Explosion, hit a 3*3 area, and cannot hurt the Mob which the Mini-Explosion started with.
    • Mini-Explosions and Explosions can't trigger each other.
    • Thorns can trigger Mini-Explosions/Explosions.
    So Exploding could be like a secondary Critical Hit which is a lot easier to set up.

    Except it doesn't exist currently as far as I know. Explosive Impact was removed mostly because of the fact that it was both an area of attack effect combined with the fact that exploding transfers all the damage of a melee weapon into an explosion on hit instead of on death.

    They tried to reduce it to 5% of the weapon's damage was an explosion but if you're using a spell Collapse build, you can get Uppercut beefed to 20K easily and 5% would just add an extra thousand. That may not sound like a huge difference but take that and apply it to groups of mobs. If you can nail like 10 mobs with a 20K uppercut, that 1000 suddenly becomes an extra 10K points of damage but to every mob now and exploding effects a pretty good area...

    Honestly, my fix for Explosive Impact would be that it takes away, for example, 2.5% of the damage and puts it into an explosion instead of adding. If we do the same math, a Collapse with a 20K uppercut gets 500 removed and put into an explosion. If we nail the same group of 10 mobs again, the effect of the damage accumulation is there but to a lesser extent, with it being 19.5K to each mob+5K from all the explosions=24.5K. This, of course, would depend on the area of effect of the explosion combined with how many mobs in that area.

    You can use this equation to get an idea of how much extra damage that would be applied onto a group of mobs.

    Total Dmg=(Average Dmg-(Avg Dmg*% dmg taken away))+(Average Dmg*%dmg taken away*the total number of mobs affected)

    The smaller the % taken away, the lower the extra dmg to a group of mobs is.

    It was never removed, as it hasn't existed yet.

    Well, that might be news to me as I remember asking why Explosive Impact was removed from Scarlet Veil and they said it was because it was too overpowered. Maybe they only removed it from Scarlet Veil and not the game?

    It existed, but was too broken and needs a rework that will take dev time so it has been removed from the game temporarily
