World Different Languages

Hey there,
as far as I know it is possible to display the questmessages in different languages.
So why shouldn´t this be implemented here as well?
The translation into several languages is a big effort but this could be handed over to the community so that the work is much less.
Wynncraft would be open to so many new players who want to explore this great game.

 

Except it is not. This way you would firce the translations to wait weeks, maybe even months to be finished after release. And you can't translate them before because community.

 

I don´t see a real problem even if that takes a while after a new release. It is better than no translations.
The Wiki has also different languages and this also takes a while that until these translations are made.

 

There have been countless threads with this same idea before, and the answer is always the same - it's not plausible. There's too much to translate, some things cannot be translated properly (e.g: some quest names with bits of alliteration); Wynncraft at it's core is a game that's built off of character dialogue, and there are several thousand lines of dialogue that'd have to be translated with perfect accuracy or else it doesn't make sense.

 

So why is the Wynncraft wiki in different languages?
And I don´t believe that there would be immediately a perfekt translation to every language. Of course it takes a while and of course the community of each language has to be big enough to make this happen.

 

It is not. Only quests. And of you look closely there are only 3 fully translated quests. Czech, French and Russian. And there are mistakes in czech, idk about others.

It is not perfect, and not really even good. It could take years before 1 lamguage would be released, and by the time it would he outdated

Yes, and only like 2 languages were paritally added/improved in past months

 

Welp I stopped doing it like four years ago, no idea who runs the thing now

 

Practically no one. Sometimes a new editor appears for some time, translated few quests and then disappears (with the exception of @DogeTennant who came, translated all quests, got head translator role and then disappeared)

 

I shall return once new content gets added! (And also once I get my lazy butt to fix errors)
