Buff Amadel's Last Form

WYNN EXCAVATION SPOILERS INBOUND!












So, I just finished Wynnexcavation D for the first time in a while and, wow the boss is really easy now. The first two versions of amadel aren't really supposed to be hard, but the last form should be. I mean, you are named hero of wynn afterwords, so it should be a tough battle. Well, I had to use a level 56 fire neutral damage spear to kill him. I did, it just took a while. The fight has some cool spells that knock you around, but they do so little damage that you might not need a healing potion. And, the last phase, despite also having elemental defense in everything, I was able to do damage with my elemental spear (lv 60, 0 neutral damage). So either that was a bug or his defense is too low. Either way, the fight was somewhat anticlimatic. I still love the quest, but the boss is way too easy.

You could argue that I am a warrior, but Corrupter of Worlds killed me twice before I managed to beat him. And each time (minus first), I used like 10 or more heal pots and used defense potions. So, some bosses do damage.

So yeah, Amadel needs to be harder. I would propose lowering his health but increasing his damage.

And also, boss health regen is horrible. I cannot kill remnant of Skien, which is supposed to be easy from what i've heard. Nope, I can get him to 6k health and then he heals back to 10k because he has elemental defense but no weakness in his first phase.

How is Amadel with other classes?

 

I often see players come into the Discord and ask for help with Amadel, so I'm completely against this. I don't think making it more difficult will help solve any issue.

 

So a few things here:

The boss isn't meant to be super hard because it isn't a late game boss. Amadel is mid game. So the player is still being taught some mechanics, while they are mastering others.

All bosses can be seen as hard or easy depending on your lvl, your gear, and your pots. I thought Skien was pretty easy because meteor boi

Lets look at some stats:

In total as a player, you need to do approx. 200k damage to him and that's if he NEVER heals. (I'm rounding up because I hate math) But I digress, lets look at the first four stages before the easy fight. 167,500 health for the first four stages, and you want players to do more?

I don't want to sound rude because I don't want to be, but come on man. That's a lot to ask from someone who just hit lvl 70. I had some trouble with the whole fight as a mage, died at least once. I refuse pots for the God Sigmar is my health. Praise Sigmar

Also it's kinda the point that's he a bit weaker.

 

All I am proposing is he does more damage. His spells just push you around. They do barely any damage. I am a warrior, but come on.

I died thrice to him (all on the wither stage), and couldn't complete it for ~10 levels (Shaman).

 

I agree current form is easier, compared to pre-rework Amadel, who was much harder than CoW in my opinion.

It's kinda balanced now, though I have problem with its hitbox. Seriously, 1 out of 2 hits does not register with warrior or assassin.

 

why would we make a boss harder that people already have issues with?

 

I’m fine if amadel gets harder, similar things happened with other bosses near that level range like CoW or bob (not considering the healing bug)

True, I used to think it was hard, but you can solo it pretty easily at level 75

 

I mean, your experience with the CoW doesn't really prove a point. I defeated CoW with sub-60 wands as a mage before pretty easily.

But I understand the position of Amadel currently. Defeated him 5 years ago and nearly had a stroke in the process. Came back years later, defeated him again, and it wasn't even partially grueling, but it wasn't "easy" either. Took a good 30-ish minutes on my part, but I'll admit my build was still wonky then. His spells might not be that crazy, but his healing can be a headache, and he's one of the first few bosses who emphasizes that as an ongoing mechanic for future boss fights, if I remember correctly. I think it was something like 5k-10k health regained after 15-20 seconds.

 

WynnExcavation Leader Amadel is intended to be a sort of wind-down- the first two forms of Fully-Formed Amadel are where the challenge is intended to be. It's supposed to be like he's out of power, considering he reverted to a normal form(if warped) form after beating him down. If you let him go long enough he does have an impressive show of spell-spamming, but after that it takes him like 16 minutes to cast again iirc.

The element defense is around 80 if I remember right, to help avoid people getting walled out by the element damage after such a long, long, long trek and battle(from Troms to Dernel Jungle's farthest corner, through the puzzle, through the tunnels, through the shortcut, through the broken city, then through the other two arenas in a rush before you take damage, and it's even longer if you don't know that the shortcut exists).

 

now that you point this out, could the CT add a bossfight thing in the dernal jungle temple similar to a hunter calling?
