    Minecraft:
A monk class or classes based on the use of martial arts.
There can be different monk classes based on different kinds of martial arts that give them unique abilities per each class.

To compliment monk classes, a new weapon type; gauntlets (could be called knuckles) could be worn. Overall, these weapons are characterized by good damage and defense, poor range, and mediocre spell power.

    Damage: 4/5
    Defense: 4/5
    Range: 1/5
    Spells: 3/5

Different gauntlets or knuckles could vary in stat spread.

Monk styles could be learned from NPCs. Different NPCs teach different styles which results in different skills. For example, one NPC may teach a style focused on AOE damage. Another could be more of a solo class, and another could be support based. Each taught by a different NPC.

If you have any questions, comment below.

    EDIT #1:

After more thought, I have thought up the skills for (base) monk class.

    SKILL 1: Aura Pressure
Effect: Intimidates enemies in an area, reducing their damage output.
Flavor Text: A monk's first skill is to impose their willpower on their foes. With this ability, a monk's manifested willpower will weaken the spirit of enemies, reducing damage.

    SKILL 2: Skywalk
Effect: Gives you an extra jump, when using this second jump, a shockwave is emitted from the source and it damages/knocks back opponents.
Flavor Text: A monk's physical training can give them near superhuman ability. With a powerful kick, a monk may propel themselves, even in mid-air.

    SKILL 3: Vacuum Fist
Effect: A pressurized blast of air is sent towards an enemy/enemies.
Flavor Text: Combining both the use of aura and physical prowess, a monk can project their strikes through the air to strike beyond their reach.

    SKILL 4: Cyclone
Effect: The user sends a wide blow of aura towards enemies. Multi-hit attack.
Flavor Text: The user projects their condensed aura as an attack through a kick, generating intense winds and pressure that crush the opponent.

Different styles change these ability's effects completely or how they interact with each other. As an example, when an opponent is intimidated, another blow can completely stun them for a while or may change the ability to buff the user instead of weakening the opponent.

More details please. Much more details. What level would the NPCs be? Where? How would the styles work?

    Add a poll

I feel like making the NPC levels around level 35-45 give or take. That's right when you unlock all of the skills, so you're given the choice of what you would like to specialize in when you know what skills you prefer. I'm unsure about locations, but I think putting the NPCs in more isolated locations would add a sense of immersion to the class like you're training in seclusion. The way styles would work is that depending on the style you choose, your base stats, like damage, etc, would change to compensate for the new skills you gained as a result of a style change. I find this to be good for set building, as you can change styles and make a build around a style. For example, let's say that there is a style that bases itself around spells. Changing your martial art style to a spell-based style would weaken your damage and defense for a slightly higher range and higher spell power. Also, what would I make the poll about?
