So on pretty much all of the items out there have some kind of booster stats with the exception of Normal Items. Y'know, stuff like poison, thorns, and XP bonus. However, I am still yet to understand how certain bonuses work, like exploding, life steal, mana steal and a couple others. So, I have some official questions listed here on stats I don't understand, and if anyone know what they do, please tell me so I can improve my build, thank you!!

    QUESTION #1:
What does Exploding do, since I know that sometime when you kill something their dead body explodes like a firework. This does't seem to do any additional damage, effect item drops, or bother surrounding monsters, so what does it do?

    QUESTION #2:
How does Life Steal work, since I see on weapons and armor that the LS stat is in the same layout as poison, which I do understand, but it was never clear to me how much, when, or how I am healed with the stat. Does the entire thing function like the already mentioned poison stat, healing me for 4 seconds after I attack something? Do I get healed while the monster is alive or after I kill it? Is the first number the collective amount of HP I get healed or the total after I attack something?

    QUESTION #3:
Mana steal is pretty weird in my opinion, like, monsters don't even have mana, as far as I'm concerned. Does it work like Life Steal, just adding mana back to me instead of healing, or does it depend on something completely different?

    QUESTION #4:
On some pieces of weapons (like Idol), I have noticed theres one stat that is called Reflection. I don't have any ideas how this works. Does it reflect a certain amount of damage back onto your opponent? Does it do something completely different? Is it even related to combat in the first place?

    QUESTION #5:
While scrolling through the stats of some mythics the other day, I found a stat on Cataclysm simply called Stealing. This has no hints or leads on what it connects to in my mind, so I have a few queries on it. Does it steal HP? Is it like a more basic version of LS or MS? Does it provide better drops from killing mobs? Is it even useful?

But yeah, that pretty much all my questions on stats for now. I would really appreciate if someone was to answer at least 1 of my questions, it would really mean a lot to me. Just a note, so I can sort through the potential answers easier, could you please write your responses in this format:

    Question [number]:
    [answer]

You can simply repeat that several times in one post, so it should look something like this:

    Question 3:
Mana steal pretty much works like blah blah blah...

    Question 4:
Reflection is simply a stat that uses blah blah blah...

    You get the point.

when you kill a mob, there is a chance (equal to your exploding chance, capped at 100) for the mob to explode, dealing aoe damage based on your single hit melee damage.
the /4 is just because life and mana steal are balanced around an approximately 4 second clock. these two effects activate on melee hits at a chance based on your attack speed. for example, if your build has 700/4 life steal, and your attack speed is super slow, which hits .51 times per second. super slow has a 49% chance to proc life or mana steal. .51 times per second at 49% chance averages out to proccing about once every four seconds, but again, it's rng based.
here are all of the speeds/chances

pretty much, life and mana steal activate based on your attack speed, and it averages out to proccing about once every 4 seconds at perfect melee
see above. the stealing part just means that you get it from melee, not that you are physically "stealing" it
reflection is like thorns, but instead of proccing on melee (which thorns does), reflection procs on spells. the id is a CHANCE, not the damage reflected back. so if you have 100% reflection, every spell that hits you has a ratio of its damage reflected back. both of them are pretty garbage for literally any use.
it provides a chance for emeralds to drop on melee hits, and it does seem to scale with attack speed. @Verle made a great thread on this here if you want more info on the correlation. it is pretty much only useful for the greed major id, which can be found on Old Keeper's Ring, The Exploited, and, in 1.20, The Jingling Jester. Greed heals you and allies around you whenever you pick up an emerald. stealing id isn't a good source of income.

a couple of the wordings here are misleading:
Attack Speed +X Tier Increases the tier of your weapon's attack speed. NOTE: Attack speed is bound between Super Slow and Super Fast.
attack speed doesn't actually increase the specific tier of your weapon, it increases your effective attack speed. this was changed i don't remember exactly when, but when attack speed affected weapon attack speed, that was when alkatraz did like 100k uppercuts. might want to change this wording so it doesn't seem like attack speed ID affects base damage

both of the % damage (spell and melee, not elemental) are also misleading. they only affect the BASE damage of the weapon, it doesn't include raws.
the formula for spell is (Base Damage) x (Attack Speed Boost) x (Spell Multiplier) x (1+(Identification Boost)) + (Raw Spell Damage) x (Spell Multiplier), where Identification Boost is your spell% (or elemental damages, but i'm not talking about that here).
melee formula is (Base Damage) x (1+(Identification Boost)) + (Raw Melee Damage)-- again, melee% only affects base damage.

lifted both of these from motoki's damage calculation thread

    Then please edit it

(or if you could make Atlas Inc. go and update/create everything related to combat it would be awesome)
