The Idea behind this is actually very simple, as most of you know there are reserved places in the hotbar for soulpoints, the questbook and the compass which opens the status menu, so why not adding a few more slots for every tool. Those slots have to be reserved so that one cannot use them as normal inventory spaces to loot.

I don't think many people want to lose even more hotbar slots (bringing us down to 2) in order to keep gathering tools on hand, especially when professions are as unpopular and unpleasant as they are now. In fact, that would be extremely inconvenient for many people who keep more than one weapon on their hotbar.

I said to add not change the slots.
like from the normal 10 Spaces to increase it to 16 so that gathering tolls don't cause an Inventory loss. Of course you can't get to them by the Hotkeys (1;...0) but this is no problem for the mouse wheel.

PS: Read carefully before writing anything pls.

The amount of slots a Minecraft player has in their hotbar is hard coded into the game. No mod, plugin or command can ever change that. This is impossible to implement.

There isn't any way to add hotbar slots without modding the game as far as I'm aware. And yes, we did read it. We just assumed you meant setting aside 4 slots for tools since it's not really possible to add slots.

    I don't see a problem with this...

No but seriously, I I don't think this is a good idea.
But maybe instead of adding more slots or taking up ones in the hotbar, you should suggest to instead be able to place gathering tools in the ingredient pouch or something, two hotbar slots IS NOT enough space in the hotbar, especially since most people don't enjoy doing professions. I don't know, that's just my idea.

It wasn't that hard actually, I just had to copy and paste the 4 tools in my hotbar and move them over to the right and then overwrite those tools with and empty hotbar slot by copy + pasting it over the original tools.
Also, if you were to have the gathering tools in your hotbar that would mean that this is how much inventory space you would get.

    Yeah, not amazing.
But maybe instead of having four tools in your hotbar, there could be a "multi-tool" that could switch between tools that you already have I'm not saying that it's an individual tool that just works for all of them, but it could have a menu that could contain the tools you have or something like such.
Although this does go against what was suggested, I think this could be better.

I mean... There's not much of a problem to dump potions into the bank and grab your tools instead. You don't lose any inventory slots (you actually gain some if you carried more than 4 potions, and most players do). As far as you organize your inventory a bit, you should be absolutely fine. To this thread I answer: "Just adapt to the conditions."
