Dueling

Dont you think that the dueling feature seems outdated?
Now you can put in stakes for items and emeralds to really up the ante.

There should be a screen after you duel similar to what they have in Borderlands or Runescape where you can put in the items youre willing to forfeit if you lose. It would make more people want to duel aswell

no because it promotes betting (kinda) and the whole point of duelling is to test eachother's strength

 

This is essentially just a online fight club but unofficial and those are illegal. This might encourage kids though.

 

its a general nice idea which support non scammers in duels against actual scammers. besides you dont have to duel a toxo player if you dont want too its a free choice.

nonetheless you should just not duel higher level and someone close to yours instead if you want a fair match. and aside of all this this will indd make pvp more fun and exciting since there is something to win.

(you could also change the bet to 10emeralds cause both party has to agree to the amount bet to play.)

this system is way more fair then hunted.

I wouldnt say its betting though. Betting assumes that it is luck based, where as duels arent luck based and have some skill involved

 

If you bet on jockeys, is that luck based? No. It depends on the skill of the jockey and how good their horse is. It's still considered betting.

 

That analogy makes no sense in this situation though. youre still talking about betting. This is a pure test of skill and how good you are at building a build.

 

The test of skill is already there. There is no reward other than victory. The whole staking idea is pointless.

The reward is the victory message. The whole point is to test your skills and/or build against another player. Sure, it would be interesting, but it wouldn't bring any new aspects to the game.

Wynncraft PVP is almost completely luck based as it is right now. The winner is usually the person who gets the first hit. The only skill needed is with builds, and even then your effort can be negated by spam clicking. The staking idea is just competitive spam clicking. I think this would work better if PVP was balanced (and I feel like that will happen at some point) but at this current moment in time it's not going to mix well with the staking system.

Now can we stop this argument before it starts a flame war?

 

If both players are level 100 and have at least some skill, it is pure luck.

Example:
I have superfast build with 5k raw melee and 6k poison.
My opponent has Gale's Force with nighthawk. (about 35k arrow storms?)

Wins the fastest, both need to land 1 hit or spell. (Actually I have disadvantage if he has over 12k HP)

Good builds usually do at least 10k damage per spell/attack and usually have 10-20k HP.
Build are centered around PvE, PvP is just a detail, no one balanced the gear for it!!!

 

Theres a difference between betting and gambling. Betting can have skill involved, such as betting on someone winning a different game. if gambling has skill involved, then someone is cheating.

You are right, I don't have to duel a toxo player, both players don't really have to pay money for duels either. So what is the point of making this? I don't think adding such feature can encourage PvP because 90% of the people does duels for testing builds or for fun. The remaining 10% is people like you (no offense, your free choice lol) who do duels for stuff.

Also people in this server doesn't do much pvp in general, like if I want to do pvp why don't I go to hypixel or mineplex or other servers that offers pvp games.
People think pvp here is unbalanced as fuck, then please first rework some of the id (poison is gay) and the whole fucking mechanics (agi, ele def, damage etc etc).

One last side note for you, in 90% of the PvE games, PvP is just a feature for making people who likes pvp shut up. (bruh just look at warframe or something, DE doesn't even bother to change the PvP system for 5 years, and a hell lot of people are requesting it)

As a person who genuinely hate pvp very much I have to voice it out, the poll is biased as fuck. Don't overgeneralize everything.

betting = needs skill, can be controlled by human power
gambling = pure luck

Maybe he is the guy who have 100 agi and all ele def 100+ with 15k health (not sure if it is possible though) so he desperately want this stuff by being toxic and post something that is equivalent to a shitpost in vip plaza

No one mentioned you to fight someone who has a super fast build or toxo shaman.
its very simply just to duel against other friendly members and bet something as to make it more exciting.
that being said and explained.

How is pvp unbalanced?, a lot of people i fought against never complained about it but more about the other part who is scamming people over items. (also reason they stopped dueling). nonetheless if you think some people are just spamming heal, arrow bombs or put max hp, hpr build on them is annoying and unfair. DONT DUEL.

simple summary is just to get better at PVP and not to do PVP unless youre ready. @ghoti0315

Runescape dueling mechanics are just used as an example where both party agree on the bet and fight till one loses or they go with draw. and the winner get the item guaranteed.
unless in the wynncraft discord they encourage scamming in duels.

And for anyone reading this i just want to make it fair for people who do love dueling and want to bet emeralds on it or items.
It's just very annoying if some people think they can make a deal with clear rules and just straight up scam the person when they lose.
( cause they can )

 

Do I even need to mention this one... TrapinchO literally gave out an example of how unbalanced duel is.
The reason why people you see aren't complaining about PvP is simple - they are the 10% of the people who like the system. However, literally the majority of the people think that wynncraft pvp is unbalanced, then it is. Don't try to argue with that.

And you mentioned that if I don't like some builds don't duel. Yes I don't really do duels because of those builds (and competition = toxicity as well), but there are a lot of players like me, who plays wynncraft for enjoying content, not pvp. The thing I said is, don't expect a PvP extra feature for a PvE game, since PvP is not actual content and it doesn't do shit to the game. They got a lot more meaningful feature to make.

If you enjoys winning or pvp then vanilla minecraft pvp without shields is balanced, go try it out instead of "dueling" in a PvE server.

Also "scam" means "an illegal plan of making money", which doesn't apply in your kind of case, since not paying upon losing is NOT against the wynncraft rules. It is called "Lack of Sportsmanship".

 

the thing is after grinding doing quests there is literally nothing to do with your godly armour or money.
that is why if added the new feature it would inspire people to continue to play and not grind mindlessly proffesions.
besides hunted was added because of these reasons. ( to make it more exciting for the end game players.)

and scamming people is also deceiving or fraud which in this case the one that lost the player deceives the guy who won in not giving him the promised money.

 

Duels arent luck based i mean if you dont get hit your agility wont proc so if you do get hit there is obviously a chance to get damage. thats technically how every game works.
