In AJB, it is stated that Darkness is an element. I wanted to introduce it as one along its natural enemy, Light. I will explain how they work later.

    Talk to Rinsewand in Lutho

Rinsewand: Hello adventurer. If you have made it this far into the Expanse then you are probably aware of the existence of the sixth element, Darkness. I'm sure you're interested in how to harness or destroy it.
Rinsewand: Well, so am I. There is no trace in sight of these elements existing, however I have found clues that this desolate town holds a library. The main one is that one of the citizens, who seems to be called Threeleaf, has a library badge. Go find him and investigate his house.

    Investigate Threeleaf in his house

    Threeleaf: ...
He seems to stare at you soullessly. No surprise, to be honest.

(you interact with a bookshelf in this part and a secret door opens)

    Investigate the strange library

Threeleaf's journal: To anybody reading this journal, I am Threeleaf. I was sent here to Lutho to investigate the obelisk they found.
Threeleaf's journal: It's frightening yet lucky that the obelisk just happened to be right between the strange plains and toxic wastes. It keeps the people sane, but the fact that it just happened to be in the perfect place for a town is astonishing.
Threeleaf's journal: I'm sure you know of the five elements, right? I have found evidence that two more exist.
Threeleaf's journal: Their names? Light and Dark.
Threeleaf's journal: I've noted that another obelisk is found in the Void Valley. This one seems to be dark. I'm going to set off to it now. I had better do it before I lose my sanity like the others. Trees are appearing in the plains and I'm seeing a correlation.

Return to Rinsewand with the new information

Rinsewand: Another element? This information is blowing my mind.
Rinsewand: The obelisk has a relationship with light? Damn, if only there were a dark one...
    Rinsewand: ...
Rinsewand: What? there's a dark one too? You ought to investigate it immediately!

Investigate the dark obelisk in void valley

(you find a secret void hole that did not exist in ajf and it takes you to a cave under the obelisk, which is the opposite of the one under the light obelisk)

The mobs in this cave seem too powerful for you. On your way out, you trip over a strange bag of powder. You take it with you.

    +1 Mysterious Powder

Rinsewand: Are you okay? How was it?
    Rinsewand: ...
Rinsewand: Odd powder? Give me a look!
    Rinsewand: ...
Rinsewand: It's glowing.. It must be light powder! Apply it to a suitable weapon as soon as you can!

Apply the light powder to any weapon that is your class (the game will tell you not to do it if you try to use a weapon for a different class)

Rinsewand: You should probably head back to that obelisk and see what happens

Head back to the obelisk and explore it further

    Enter the secret lair

Threeleaf's journal: I doubt anybody will get here, but if you do, this is the final extent of my research.
Threeleaf's journal: The light and the dark.. they combat each other..
Threeleaf's journal: When they collide.. they create corruption
Threeleaf's journal: This is the source of the corruption in central Wynn...
Threeleaf's journal: I will now return to Lutho and hope I don't lose myself in the shadows that now consume me...

Return to Rinsewand one last time

Rinsewand: Oh, hey! While you were gone, I poked around Threeleaf's library and I found these contact lense thingies. When I put them on, I saw the world in a new way. Here, some on! There's enough for both of us!
You put on the contact lenses and you see now that many creatures around you have the element of Light or Dark
Rinsewand: I also found a huge amount of the strange powders, and I plan to open up an exchange in Corkus city that will extend their current one. Feel free to visit me there any time! You earned it.

    Quest completed
+Ability to see the elements Light and Dark
    +Access to Rinsewand's Ethereal Exchange
    +5800000 experience points
You can't actually get these elements naturally and they can only be added by powder. The powder cannot be dropped from mobs and the only way to get it is to exchange 3 powders of the same tier of ethereal powder with Rinsewand in Corkus. You can then exchange 10 of that ethereal powder to him to get the next tier.

All dungeon mobs and bosses would not gain these elements because it would simply add another layer of difficulty to dungeons

Both elements work like neutral in terms of damaging you but you can still use the elemental weakness of mobs to your advantage as long as you have that element on your weapon.

Most mobs currently in the game would not gain this. The only exceptions are dern related and light realm related mobs. These elements would be truly applied to life when you start your adventure in Dern.

(i know these elements are terribly thought out but i didn't make this suggestion with the hope that it would be added and it was more like for fun)

Then, isn't it more like a fan-made quest that belongs to Your Work or somewhere else? Also, this doesn't seem like a fun quest, just walking between places and talking to NPCs, and the dialogue has like no real personality or flair either.

first of all, most people think that adding 2 new elements to break the lore was already a pretty terrible idea, and i can't really see wynncraft wanting to put more emphasis on them after community feedback on their introduction.

as dwicey said, there doesn't seem to be a ton of active gameplay, as it seems to just be speaking to different npcs at different places, and the dialogue is fairly underwhelming for such a monumental quest

yeah i will probably improve them sooner or later

tbh i never really noticed anybody complaining and they aren't really elements (yet)

tbf you're probably right, but in discord, i only really check class builds and occasionally wynncraft, and class builds hates it because "wtf new element wtf wtf noooooooo my years of build training wtf" (not this extreme, but it kind of broke the existing mindset) and i also saw some people talk about the lore implications

i think i said something about how it wouldn't really affect damage you take and would just be similar to neutral, but it would be useful in damaging mobs with the opposite element. Builders wouldn't have to worry too much.
