Okay, so pretty much, I haven't played Wyyncraft for a WHILE, (my last login being roughly a year ago, and my first login being roughly 3 years ago). I've been using the schematica mod on a skyblock server recently (printer for cactus farm, etc) and also just downloaded the Wyyntills mod.

I logged on to Wyyncraft without thinking about schematica at all and started using Wyyntills (really cool mod btw). Within just a few minutes of logging on, I was banned for three days for using schematica.
I understand that schematica is not allowed and that it is most definitely my fault for not reading the rules recently. However, I do wish that I would have gotten a warning, like maybe a text-message in-game, or a kick/shorter (1 hour or so) ban. If I would have been notified of my mistakes, I could have just deleted schematica.
Either way, this ban is not appealable, and it's only 3 days, so it's not that big of a deal... just wanted to maybe suggest that it would probably benefit a lot of players if there was a sort of warning system before outright bans occurred.
Maybe that isn't a good idea, either way, thanks for reading.

There is? I don't have an auto-reconnect mod. I logged on for the first time without being kicked for about 5 minutes and then was instantly banned. Maybe some sort of bug with the warning system? Or I somehow... didn't see it, and logged back in? But I don't know how that would happen seeing as this was my first time logging in for a while.

Well, either way, if there is a warning system, then it shouldn't be a problem for other players.

Actually, there is a warning, I accidentally logged on with schematica like a week ago and got kicked for "banned mod: schematica" or something. The only time it bans you for it is if you keep trying to log in, or if you have some sort of mod that like auto reconnects I think.

It's possible that either you happened to not see it and reconnect, or maybe that you have got warned for this a long time ago and maybe there is some sort of internal counter that bans you after you log in with it x number of times

Makes sense, now that I think about it, I very well may have logged in with schematica a long while ago, I don't remember this happening...but it could have, I've had schematica installed for a while.

Well, that (probably) explains it, I guess ill see you in 3 days, thanks for the help, everyone!

Why would schematica be banned anyway? I don't think it does anything game-changing…

No clue, but I'm sure the staff has their reasons (I hope?).

Pretty sure parts of the map could be yoinked and stolen with schematica and other world-downloading mods.

That makes sense, but why does that matter? Anyone who really wants to can re-copy it by hand or even code a client that can do it without getting detected (it is client side after all).

Yeah, agreed. You would be able to copy the map relatively easily without the use of mainstream mods like schematica.

the point is to make it much more difficult, of course you can't absolutely prevent it. both of the methods you mentioned are absolutely not simple tasks and would take significantly more effort and time than booting up an existing mod. there will always inevitably be copies of wynn, but why give pirates the easy way out?

any mod other than optifine is somewhat unsafe to use

Wynntils and other non-hack wynn mods are legal, but can sometimes be detected as blacklisted and cause false banwaves
