I was recently grinding and my inventory was full of unidentified items, but most of it was taken up by stacks and stacks of emeralds. I was thinking there would be an armor piece with a major ID something like this:

    Compression
Automatically turn 64 emeralds in your inventory into one emerald block and turn 64 emerald blocks into 1 liquid emerald.

This would be useful so that you wouldn't have to make a trip back to a bank (especially if you're in the Canyon of the Lost far from any major city and Thesead gate is Thesead gate) This would let players be a bit more efficient with grinding. It wouldn't make too much of a difference because the player's inventory would still be filled with unidentified items, but it would add a small amount of convenience to players who prefer grinding over quests like many of my friends.

This has been brought up before, and the main problem mentioned is that it will allow anyone collecting loot to gather many more emeralds. The player can many more emeralds and do so with fewer slots, meaning that players can go for longer before returning to a bank and will not need to toss out emeralds nearly as often. That, arguably, is too overpowered.

it would be annoying when you need raw emeralds, not emerald blocks like in quests when you have to throw emeralds on the floor

Currently, assuming you use 1 weapon and have an otherwise empty inventory, you can get up to 1792 emeralds in a loot run. After that, you have to return to a bank. That's a pretty decent number in my opinion, as it places a pretty good restriction on how much money you can add to the economy in a given amount of time. With this major ID, you could get 7340042 emeralds before your inventory was full. I'm not saying you'd automatically just get that many emeralds, but the fact that you could just grab emeralds and keep going means that loot runs could continue almost indefinitely, causing inflation. In addition, it would be far more profitable to get emeralds than most items; people will grab fewer low value items, causing prices to rise even more.

a.k.a. how to crash WynnCraft's economy in one easy step.
It has indeed been suggested before, and I've disagreed with it for the same exact reason.

Well, if it's on an armour piece with say -140% to -260% loot bonus, it might actually work

The only problem is there's items that will negate that *cough* discoverer *cough* and allow other pieces to bring that LB back up. If it was a chestplate though....

It is sad that in order to be balanced it has to be usefull only when it would be abused if not balanced

What if we give it a chonkers amount of -ls and -mr? That would help.

Then it would be for normal gameplay even worse. And when you lr, you usually don't attack mobs

well -175% to -325% loot bonus on a chestplate could be bought back up a maximum of ~25% lb with godly lb gear (including the chestplate). So unless they use crafted, it should work
    ________________________________
Even with crafted it would only go back up to about ~100% lb. but I doubt that will make a difference since most rational people would choose lq crafteds over lb
