Quest King's Recruit Is Actually Good Now

    Memey item names and lores aside, I actually think the tutorial reflects the gameplay a lot more than it did before, and as a result is a lot more fun (I'm still gonna skip it though). I think it's a much better introduction for new players and portrays the game as being less of a profession grind and as more of a fun adventure server. Thanks guys.

    Yeah, a friend of mine tried Wynn out, and left immediately thinking it was a non-special grindfest.



    also when I showed them LI and was doing sick spell combos with Assassin, they were like: "You're literally just hitting it again and again".

    The old King's recruit gave people REALLY low expectations of Wynn.

    My main problems with it are that they still don’t introduce spells before you fight mobs and they don’t give any mobs spells in the new one.

    Spells are really important to the flow of combat and introducing them after you clear the cave feels wrong, especially since after you’re first introduced to spells, you’re immediately confronted with a bunch of enemies you can’t use your spells on. It gives the wrong impression of spells as utilities for quests rather than a core part of combat.

    Mobs spells are also core to combat, and are one of the biggest things differentiating Wynn’s combat system from vanilla Minecraft and other RPG servers. They’re flashy and pretty impressive, and I feel like a miniboss or something with spells would leave a much better first impression than just having a cave with like three mobs in it
