Personally I feel like the professions are lacking a lot in versatility. It is just a mindless grind for items that are knock offs of the original or for specific things while leaving others useless. I haven't delved too far into crafting and gotten serious about it so take what i said with a grain of salt. Anyways, on to the idea

Profession Skills, what is it? Basically what our current skills are but direct towards professions. Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Defense and Agility. Each level in each profession would give you certain amounts of skill points which you can allocate into each of the skills. Obviously with changed names so it makes sense. So far only a few seems like good ideas.

Strength - gives harvest speed ID per point invested into this skill. Ex. adding 1 skill point = +5% gathering speed

Luck - Less chance to fail a harvest and a higher chance to get a higher tiered item or double item drops per node at a chance of course. No real debuff that i can think of ATM

Intelligence - higher exp gain for each node harvested, no real debuff i can think of

These are only for the gathering side of it, ill add on crafting items if this post receives positive feed back

This idea could be easily implements into the game imo, simply count how much of the points are allocated in each skill area and giving it a set modifier, EX. for agility you would count 5 points in agility and give a 5% increase in gathering speed, or strength give a 5 damage to the node but -5% gathering speed. Luck is the hardest to add in but you could treat it like a loot bonus for the node. Take the node and multiply the chances of getting a better tier by x amount so instead of 1% for t3 it would be 1.5% if you allocate 5 or 50 points into luck.

Wynn is an mmorpg so any sort of progression is always nice, work hard get rewarded. Especially since it adds onto a skills system which is a fairly big part of mmorpgs and a lot of games in general. More versatility would only benefit the wynn community as well as add a little more spice to gathering which i personally find really boring.'

Mini Idea- being able to craft our own gathering tools which have custom stats like more gathering speed or higher luck etc which is basically piggy backing off what is above

Gathering speed is already an ID of it’s own, and what it does is just to take off more “health” on the node. It doesn’t really make sense with what your suggesting about gathering speed. There is a fixed cooldown for when you can hit a node, 0.75 seconds iirc, and this is not changing.
The only things you can change with nodes is the amount of xp you get and the amount of “health” it has. The cooldown is gonna be the same no matter what.

Basically adding more gathering speed as the ID is what i meant, giving us an innate gathering speed. Tbh i didn't research too much into professions since this was just an idea i had while grinding it out. There are still things to tweak in my ideas and this was one of them i guess. I was thinking the nodes had hp that scaled with higher tiers kind of like mobs. Thanks for the feedback. I've changed the strength bonus, hopefully its better now.

Oh interesting, it doesn't work the same way as a speed bomb? Would've thought it did.

Doesn’t work the same as a speed bomb. You can see this for yourself with all the different tiers of tools. They have different gathering speeds and they all take off different amounts of “health” on nodes.

hopefully they add it back soon, it would be really cool if we could craft our own tools as well with ingredients and materials.
