World Sky Islands Lag

Sky islands is currently pretty much unplayable for me because of how laggy the whole area is. Jofash dock is fine but as soon as I enter the sky islands I get FPS drops and huge lag spikes and freezing.

I normally either die because of freezing near mobs or by glitching off the islands into the void.

All my friends have had the same issues even with the lowest graphics/particles/render distance settings.

This needs a fix

 

And that fix is called "Invest more than 50 bucks on your computer"

Try turning render distance down to 6 chunks, particles minimal, fast graphics, no clouds, player ghosts off, max framerate 120, and play on 1.10.2. Oh and turn biome blend off, hope that helps if you didn't know about those settings before

If you need to spend thousands on a PC to play Minecraft of all things then there's something wrong with you not him, also if I got a computer for $50 that could play Minecraft that would be a well good deal

 

I’ve tried turning everything to its lowest, used optimise to increase performance more and even tried increasing java’s priority in task manager but it just doesn’t help.

Does that make sky islands a pay to enter area then, since no other area has the same lag? Got a friend that has the same whose spend hundreds on a gaming PC and has had the same experience. Not the most helpful response ever.

 

Oh christ well I'm stumped, try all the versions perhaps idk. One drastic measure you could take is just not play with the texture pack in that area, it wouldn't be that fun but it may work.


Yeah, apparently the answer is just to throw hundreds of pounds at a new laptop -_-, not everyone can afford to upgrade whenever there's a small issue, ignorant statement and a subtle brag that they have shelled out on an overpriced computer

 

you could try to argue that sky islands should be somehow more optimized, but how is that a server problem if literally most ppl can play there? ik that maybe you can't or aren't willing to spend more money on a better pc, but reducing the overall build quality of an area just to make it so you have more fps isn't rlly the best option here...

 

try using optifine

 

Tried that, using every FPS boosting setting, turning off all animations and particles to minimal. Still laggy.
