Imo that kinda immersion breaking if your placing them as weapons imo, unless every time you entered you changed to a build pack.

 

Ya it's not exactly a perfect building system. What I could've done is made a "Block Placer" item which places the block you desire wherever your are looking, but not sure how that would've gone.
The entire Texture Weapon system could also be changed to hold items on durability, similar to how it is for Shaman items, but that's too big of an overhaul probably.
And as I said, using schematics or prebuilds is also a possibility.

Essentially I have not applied.

In all seriousness, we know that housing will probably never be added in Wynncraft because of... well there's only one reason really, just memory banks and lag in general. Pretty cool thread but belongs more in the Your Work section

 

While it is his work, it is a suggestion on how to do housing and a proposed way to do it

 

I've already covered lag and memory/storage in this post. In testing, housing files do not take up that much memory whatsoever. It's less than people would think. Even with 17k blocks (Thanks @NagisaStreams), it was barely 1 MB.

For lag, barely any whatsoever. There is only 1 repeating task that runs constantly, and even that doesn't run every tick and is not intensive whatsoever. Most methods are also fairly optimized, using Async tasks for heavy loading or unloading. Packet handling is also not very lag intensive. Fake blocks are sent only when needed, not every second.

In short, there are very few sources of lag from this. Minecraft Plugin coding is more optimized than most people think. If you program something the right way, it will have very little impact on performance.

Then why does Hypixel's Housing cause issues for the server?

 

I've personally never had any or heard of any housing issues on Hypixel, but there's probably some.
Anyway, their codebase is probably vastly different from mine. Plus, their system is overall much different than this one. It's on a separate island so there's a lot more data to save, at least I believe so.

But more importantly, they made it work. It might be a hard feature to add, but it would be well worth the effort.

 

Ehh, not in Hypixel's case tbh, most of them are just PvP centers where players never listen to the rules, and there are some parkour courses too.
