Non-donators Can Rename Crafted Items

The title says it all.

Crafting as a mechanic is supposed to be a way to make your own gear with its own unique properties. The fact that your crafted item has its own weird name, sours that experience.

However, so that there is still an incentive to get ranks, /relore and /sign would only be available to ranked players, as well as giving them the privilege of changing the item’s name colour.

That’s all, feedback would be appreciated.

As much as i love this since i am a non-donor, I'll still say no, however let me explain.
Wynncraft is a free to play server, you don't have to pay anything to get on the game and start playing like everyone else, and you have access to all classes (Reskins don't count) all quests, all levels, etc. Without having to pay a single cent, so that means cosmetics which are in ranks and other things like pets are their only income and they need it to keep the server running.
If you take some of that cosmetic features you've made exclusive for a donator rank and give it to everyone else, the amount of buyers is gonna become way less than it was, since people can now use more amazing cosmetic features such as /rename and /relore without needing to buy a rank.

Tldr; this would be a big loss for Wynncraft.

I see where you are coming from, though I must disagree. From what I know, many rank owners do not buy a rank because of the cosmetic advantages. They buy it because they want to thank the CTs and devs for putting so much effort into the server. If not, they have no reason to buy the rank, since it does not have any real advantages. Therefore, this will not harm the monetary income of the server.

Daily Crates, Cool tag, Secret forum page, HERO beta, free bombs on first rank bought, Class reskins, more class and trade market slots, lots of exclusive commands, Daily mob totems.

Please do more research next time, i'm not saying they're not buying it to support the devs, some people buy it with that intention but most people want the other things these ranks come with. Besides, if these ranks gave nothing special, you wouldn't see half the server with them.

Considering people who replied to this have ranks, Ill assume the information in my reply, which i got from reading the forums, is wrong.

Anyway, I just thought that if this feature is available to all players, it would popularise crafting due to it reflecting the fact that this mechanic encourages customisation.

It should not discourage donators, due to all the big sellers being bombs (EO dungeon bomb parties) and loot crates, as well as ranks providing a lot of other perks. (mob totems)

 

I think that /rename should be available for everyone, regardless of their rank (or lack of). However, I think that /relore and /sign should be restricted as they are now, as they feel less important. Naming an item makes it feel more like it's your item that you made, which I think is a pretty important aspect of crafting. Maybe allowing someone without a rank to name an item as they make it, but not rename it at a later point in time without a rank.

No, it's a donator feature, if it is removed, donors would have less reasons to donate.
And this isn't an important feature.

 

Yeah, people gave feedback on that point, so now features like /lore and colouring names can only he used by ranked players, to encourage buying ranks.

As for your second point, I disagree. Whats the point having custom items if you cant rename them?
