Should Basic Attacks be possible on Horseback for Archers?

    So, when you think of an Archer build, what do you think? It's safe to say, the only viable build that comes to mind would be something mana-regen related and there is a good reason for that. Melee Archer is not viable in the current meta due to the absurd damage of Spell Damage Archer and the lack of fluidity in Melee Archer. In the 1.19 Changelog, it is stated that the Basic Attack will have a larger area of effect, this is a great quality of life change and starts to bring back the possibility of Melee Archer. However, I believe that there is more needed to make Melee Archer worth building.

    So let's get onto the actual suggestion; I believe that allowing Archers to Basic Attack while on horses would be a great quality of life change that does not necessarily make it broken or OP, but instead provides fluidity to the Archer Class. In my opinion, Archer Class should not be based around spamming Bomb Arrows or Arrow Storms until everything is dead, but instead tactically kiting out enemies and allowing Horseback Archers to be a reality would be a great start.

    Now you may say, "Expo, you dummy, why not just build Walk Speed?" Well to that I say, if you decide to build Walk Speed then you pretty much decide to build Air Damage due to the way Wynncraft items work. This would essentially make all Melee Archer builds exclusively Air Damage and provide no diversity or creativity in builds, which no one really wants.

    Tl;dr Allow Archers to Basic Attack while on Horseback to allow the Melee option of the class more fluid and viable.

    I like the idea but I think it would make archers really overpowered. The way hit detection works when the player is on a horse is really bad (you can ride straight through groups of mobs and not get hit once) and so archers would be almost impossible to hit when on horseback. If the hit collision was somehow fixed I would be down for this.

    Yeah, I get what you mean and I agree, but at the same time Melee Archer is really bad at the moment; 99.9% of players only build Spell Damage which would not be effected by this change.

    Okay, so I just tested it and they must have already patched that because I hit a bunch every time I rode through a crowd of mobs.

    I haven't been able to hit multiple mobs effectively in beta. I guess I should test after the recent patches.

    Piercing arrows would have been probably cooler than bigger AoE

    I do agree melee archer should be more viable, but I don't think making them shoot on horseback is a solution. The devs would also have to allow all other classes to attack from horseback as well and that will just open a whole new can of worms. Not to mention that the melee attack of archer will still be the same.
