Pretty minor suggestion I thought of on the spot yesterday.

I've always found it a bit annoying how the character info items, the Character Compass, Quest Book, and Soul Points, have taken up 3 hot bar slots. I'm usually finding myself wanting to put more pots on my bar but those three items prevent me from doing so.

So a simple proposal would be to move them up into the top right-hand corner of the inventory as shown here:

The player can then click on these items as if they were in an Inventory Menu/GUI. This would allow for players an extra 3 slots on their hotbar to store potions, extra weapons, or other usable items or consumables.

    Pros:
    • +3 Hotbar Slots
    • Less accidental mis-scrolls and misclicks on the Character Compass or Quest Book mid-combat
    • Slightly better organization
    Cons:
    • -3 Internal Inventory Slots
    • Less convenient access to the Character Bar
For better customization, there can be a "/toggle characterbar" option that will move the character bar into the inventory or onto the hotbar just in case people prefer it the normal way, or need to switch before entering a boss fight.

Thanks for reading! And as always, feedback is appreciated!

    omg yes please

however I think that having only 6 Hotbar Slots makes the game mildly more challenging (?) at least for me
kinda like it, but I would support this

Definitely move soul points into the inventory cause they have no purpose in the hotbar, but the compass and quest book do have a good reason to be there:

    - The quest book is accessed very often and it would be very tedious to have those extra clicks every time you want to see progress on a quest.

    - The compass is handy for knowing where to go, since you can use it to point to coordinates (and I use that a lot).

A way to fix this would be to move the questbook into the compass and have only the compass remain in the hotbar. So you open the compass, somwhere in the menu you see a little book named "quest book" and when you click it you see your quest. You should also be able to just hover over your compass to see what quest you are doing (either that or hover your mouse over the quest book inside the compass menu) and everything should be fine.

Actually while we're at it, why don't we also just put soul points in the compass menu? Nobody really needs to see how many soul points they have all the time so you might as well just tuck them into the compass menu. There. All three items are now in one menu. 2 more hotbar slots, no inv slots lost.

This sounds awesome, but what about quest tracking? If you have no book to hold, then when should the game remind you of tracked quests?

Yeah, I think this definitely is a good idea, but like you said there should be a way to toggle whether those 3 character bar items are in the inventory or hot bar, and by default, it should be in the hot bar since it'll be more convenient for newer players.

If we can choose to switch between inventory or action bar it's kinda... perfect because then everuone would be free to choose what they want.

is no one going to point out how this guy made a gigantic quartz cylinder for a single command block and a button

but yeah make it toggleable or stick everything into the compass and I'd support I guess for the customizability, though personally I like it as is just because I'm used to it

I like it as it is tbh, easy to get to. But I wouldn't be against an option to have it like this, doesn't affect gameplay except a couple more slots that don't really matter as you only really need two weapons and the occasionl potion

I like it, but I have some ideas

1: Move the soul points into the crafting slot (its possible, some servers have already done this) and allow horses to be tamed through the soul points as to not make that part harder to do. then combine the quest book and compass.

2: Move the soul points in a random inventory slot and make the quest book and compass combine

3: MAKE THEIR SPACES CUSTOM JEEZ There's no need for you to NOT do this (that I can find) , it makes it easier for people to have more room, and allows for people to have them in their hotbar when they need them.
