I don't really see the use of this, as it is a command that can be toggled, plus nobody fucking cares about level, let's be fair.

the problem is combat level is probably the most important to know, as it's the level that determines gameplay and not just an added blob of random professions, yet total level is shown by default.

also, if no one cared then this thread wouldn't exist in the first place and have all this support

I generally don't see the use of this as a suggestion, this entire post could be summed up to just using /toggle chatlevel. I still don't know how you guys get confused over something this simple.

    It's not confusing.
I've talked about the issue with how it is far more than once, and honestly, I'm not sure how you could ignore any of that.

Your entire argument can be solved by just using /toggle chatlevel, and making the command generally known, none of this needed to be a suggestion.

I'm convinced you haven't actually read any of the arguments just based off what you said.
Can you maybe make an argument for or against, well anything?

It really is that simple, if I were to explain it any further, it wouldn't make any sense. I might understand that it might confuse people at first, but it isn't that confusing to the point where it isn't easily understood.

It's still actively more useful then it currently is, so why not have it as a default.
Plus it will confuse fewer new players.

Not many people really care for the number on the side, nor do I. If visuals weren't enough to describe someone's level. I don't know what is.

I'm +1 for this suggestion- If combat exp is not set as the default, then at least there should be more info in-game to tell people that you can toggle between the level settings. (I had no clue at all that /chatlevel was even a command you could do).

    -1 i cant flex on noobs :((((((
also i legit lost brain cells reading through this comment section, kinda furthering my opinion tbh

and from a practical perspective, and as a little bit of selfishness (which i think is fine, considering it takes very little effort to achieve high total levels yourself) i think that yes, the point of having total levels in your name is a LOT more to do with showing off achievements than with finding help for quests. i mean, like, say you needed help with bob’s lost soul. are you really gonna sit in detlas and scout out people’s names in chat to see who is level 45, and then message them specifically? or are you just gonna put “need help with bob’s lost soul” in chat

also i feel like the earlier parts of this chat were just people hating on goden because oH nO iTs FoX eVeRyBoDy PaNiCsorry not sorry for ruining your eyes

also, lets be honest. this is NOT what the CT should be putting their effort into. I think that the CT are at least competent enough to have noticed in testing if this actually caused major confusion that was worth the trouble of fixing it, especially at such late a stage as this.

EDIT: also do i smell non professions people getting salty? mmmmmm

Content team are the ones that change it to this in the first place, plus changing a default setting takes a few minutes.

I appreciate the fact that you actually said something to the theard, but it still doesn't quite give me a negative beyond you personally likeing to flex.

Of course if things stay the way they are, noobs will continue to get confused, unsure of what the number even means, and honestly in that case I'm not sure how you would be flexing on them.

i mean, if you want to become SuperNoob, Savior of All Noobs, be my guest.

my opinion is simple: the point of having total levels in the player handle is to show off.
and, if you don't care about seeing total levels, it is very easy to do /toggle chatlevel
and, assuming that this command is so mysterious and elusive that only the most endgame of players know it exists, then maybe this suggestion should be something more like "When you first enter Wynncraft, display a title that tells noobs about the /toggle chatlevel command!!!!!!!"

Honestly, Wynncraft has a big problem with introducing new players to how to play.
There are a lot of obvious things that a lot of players miss which would really surprise you.

    Examples:
    1. Not knowing about what soul points are for.
    2. Not knowing a toggle to lock items.
    3. There is a command called /compass x z that will make the compass point in that direction. (For some reasons you'll need to type small "c" letter in the word compass) Edit: This is only on a mod called “Wynndata”
    4. How powder special works.
    5. Playing with professions that will hinder their progress a lot, and that's generally not good in Wynncraft (for their first playthrough at least).
    6. Not knowing about /Kill.
    7. Mistaking their level because of the chat.
    8. Not knowing there is a toggle for anything in the first place.
And a lot of other things.

Btw, they still do a lot of other things pretty good. Like leading players in quests to the next area, or giving items in quests, etc.
Edit: My point here, is that to give actual solutions to those problems instead of adding an easy one, that's why you see toggle a lot of times, it's an easy solution (but that doesn't mean it's always bad).

I do care about them actually.

How about you just make it the default instead of that? It's about as much work, I mean it's actually less work.
Oh and far less annoying than having to make most everyone do it themselves.

    it doesn't matter lmfao
it's up to other people to toggle the chat level it's not like you can't see other people's combat levels sif they don't have it toggled

alternatively: literally hover over their username
but you toggled it anyways so

    eh?
