So the Wynncraft Spells have been in the game since the beginning of time. Since then, they have received very few changes, which isn't a bad thing actually.

The latest patch (1.18.2) included a few improvements to some of the spells in the game. I was actually very excited to see what they were, only to find out that... Well... It basically increased the speed of all the particles by a factor of 1, which, in terms of particle speed, is a lot (A good speed is around 0.125-0.25 for most particles). It was definitely an improvement in some ways, but in other ways, not so much...

So since we may be seeing Patch 1.19 soon, I think it'd be really nice if all of the players spells got a brand new retouch. With Road To Dern coming soon (I think?) and Major IDs about to be a thing, I feel that it may be suited for the player spells to be reborn anew.

Now like all visuals, they're extremely hard to explain in words. Luckily, someone once said "A picture is worth a thousand words." But videos have thousands of pictures in them, which should equate to almost a million words, which is what I'll need to explain my suggestion.

In short, I've went ahead and recreated all of the Wynncraft Spells by hand to show you my idea of what improvement would look like for these spells! Keep in mind that mechanical accuracy (ex. The launch height and distance of Escape) was not kept in mind while making these.

    Warrior

    Notes:
    • Warrior was the first class I did spells for. Bash is what I started with, as I thought it definitely needed the most fine-tuning out of all of the other Warrior spells. Made it more Bashy and more fiery. I also made it lift the blocks because it always bugged me when you were in a castle and you somehow managed to lift the dirt from the stone floors up into a circle mass. Made little sense to me so I changed it to be that way. Looks better in my opinion. Oh, and gave it a new sound in addition to the explosion sound, and some more explosion and fire particles to make it look lively.
    • Charge definitely looked better than I expected. The sound it makes when you lift off feels nices, and the explosion at the end is a very nice cherry on top. It's not too big as you're not a tactical nuke when you land, but it's noticeable enough to look like a small ground explosion.
    • Uppercut was very fun to tweak, by far my favorite ability of the Warrior class. Since Uppercut is all explodey and stuff, I did exactly that, make it more explodey AND fiery. The explosions at the launch up, knock down, and landing are all the same particle effects, but the landing has a deeper pitched explosion sound. They were all fun to do and it's pretty satisfying to launch 5 villagers up at once and watch them all explode.
    • War Scream was a difficult one. I couldn't think of anything for this one until I thought of circles. So that's what I did, and I came up with that. Not too bad if you ask me. I may go back and re-tweak that one though.

    Archer

    Notes:
    • Ya Arrow Storm looks kinda the same. The major two changes were the particles at the players feet, and the random sound pitch for the arrow shooting.
    • Escape was my runner-up for my favorite spell to code for this class. For me, the original Escape slam-down looked like a ground rupturing, so I basically did the same here, except gave it a proper "ground rupture" sound and look.
    • Bomb Arrow is basically now more fiery and more explodey. There was really nothing I could do here since it was essentially self-explanatory.
    • Arrow Shield was my favorite spell to code for this class. There's something so satisfying about seeing that spinning disk go up and rain down arrows of death (that may or may not hit your enemy, RNGesus dictates this) from the sky. I do know that the spinning arrows are a bit glitchy due to Minecraft Velocity setting. I couldn't do teleportation since the rotation would only update every second. And looking back at the velocity of the raining arrows, I should've probably toned them down a tad bit.

    Mage

    Updated Meteor (9/14/19):

    Notes:
    • Heal is heal. Since it pulsates I gave it a pulsing circle. Also gave it some white particles and some new sounds.
    • Since Teleport is kinda like a "dash attack" I figured I might as well make it look like one. I went with a sort of "phasing" teleport style instead of the basic "Point A to Point B" style. I also tried to go with a bit of an after image and changed the looks of the teleportation to an arcane-style.
    • Meteor looks kind of the same projectile-wise, I know. I was debating whether or not to remove the explosion particle, but I ended up leaving it and putting flame and smoke particles with it. The explosion and flaming ground looks are completely new though.
    • Ice Snake looks mostly the same, however the snake animation is much smoother, a lot more ice particles, and also some cyan particles. And the sounds are a bit cooler.

    Assassin

    Notes:
    • Spin Attack was definitely fun to improve on. I'm actually thankful that Wynncraft can now be in an assured 1.9+ state, which means I can mess around with more particles, starting with the Sweep Attack particle. There is no better place to put this than on a spell like Spin Attack (and Multihit). I also liked the idea of an afterimage of the spin, so I added in some cloud particles as well as some smoke for a bit of dark color contrast. The circle itself was sped up too. If you look closely, each tick draws 3 points in the circle, making for a smoother and faster circle animation.
    • Vanish I'm satisfied with. I removed the 6-point circle around it because I thought it was unnecessary. Vanish is what the name implies: A Vanish. A simple dark "poof" is all that it needs. Though I threw in a new sound and some cooler particles for extra spice ;)
    • Multihit was fun to mess around with, but I did have a bit of trouble thinking of an effect for this one. Since Multihit is basically a "slice/stab quickly" attack, all I could come up with was a lot of Crit and Sweep Attack particles. I do think it looks better than the current version, however I do think I could've done better in some way, just not sure how. However, I did completely redo the multihit line-of-attack effect, so it looks more cleaner now and more swordy.
    • Smoke Bomb was the most satisfying effect to make. I actually prefer the old pre-gavel Smoke Bomb look rather than the new one. But nonetheless, I did my own take on it, which turned out really nicely. I also gave it a new projectile, a trail, launch sounds, and of course, an appropriate big puff of smokey cloud, which actually looks very nice.

    As always, feedback is appreciated!

These look sick, espicially Spin attack.
I'd love for the current ones to be changed to these.

Sadly multihit isn't 7 pages long, but I take what I can get.

These are really cool! what I love the most is that arrow shield, it's so satisfying to watch, also the multihit.
What I think should be in the game from these videos are the sound effects, you really choose those well!

I'm actually glad that Wynncraft is 1.9+ now. It gave me access to all of these cools sounds you hear.
I actually had to be sure I could use them, so I had to version check to see if Wynncraft was using 1.12 items. Discovered some Concrete Powder, an item added in Minecraft 1.12, in the Update Room on my old Archer, and I also found Totems of Undying on one of the rare mobs in Kander Forest.

Well, I wouldn't say they won't see the suggestion. Especially since this one is pretty well made from what I understand at least.
And I don't really like how you called the devs "lazy".

It's completely fine to call someone lazy if he wasn't on the forums to check on our beautiful threads. Thanks, I completely understand your reasoning now (I'm being sarcastic :/ ).

Anyway, I don't really mean to attack you or anything. I'm sorry if I ended up doing it.

Nope, they'll definitely look at this. In fact, some of the Devs have looked at this already (Corpe_, JBip, Sockmower).

Whether this is relayed into their CT Discord for discussion is up to them

I may be wrong but I don't believe cmds (corpe and sockmower) make the spell effects, and jbip is just a gm/qa, but I'd assume salted lurks on forums a lot as he sometimes responds to suggestions

I feel like meteor doesn't sell its impact enough. Maybe make a few blocks fly out as it lands, it could really help sell that it impacted.

    Also amazing suggestion.

True, but they are part of the Content Team. They are allowed to take note of suggestions and post them in their CT Discord, which I do hope happens.

    Thanks!
And that's a good idea. I'll try that when I get home and see what the outcome is. I too felt that Meteor didn't sell it.

Wow, these are really good! I like them. Much more "fresh" alongside definitely looking and sounding more updated.

But I'm sure many of these sound effects are only available in 1.12+, so it would mean that versions below 1.12 would have to get their own sound effects as otherwise they would be silent. (Or just, you know, ditch 1.9, 1.10, and 1.11 entirely, but they obviously are not going to do that anytime soon...)

    Thanks!

Also, the only sound effect that is 1.12 is the sound effects in Vanish, Teleport, and Arrow Shield.
I did do a version check to make sure 1.12 stuff was allowed. I found out it was when I was in the Update Lobby, there was Concrete Powder, which was a block added in 1.12. So theoretically it is allowed.

Push comes to shove, most cross-version servers have substitutes for blocks and sounds not in that update, so it should be fine.

Believe me, I checked sounds and particle compatibility and most if not all seem to check out :D

    So something else.
The 2nd explosion in bash feels almost nonexistent.
One of the reasons for this I think is the blocks that are flying up simply don't react to it at all, so it feels weak.
Maybe make the blocks fly away after the explosion like this.

This is literally the best thing i've ever seen. I loved the spin attack it honestly was awesome, the arrow shield was satisfying as well.
The animation was smooth, the particles were spot on. Honestly, i love this and i support it and i wish this would be implemented in the game.
There have been a few things i wanted to point out but some other fellas did in replies before me.

On a side note, i seriously do not know how the hell are you not working on wynncraft just yet, you'll be one of the greatest staff, this is amazing.
