Emerald Condensing Scroll

A scroll that turns stacks of 64 emeralds in your inventory into blocks on the go (exactly like a banker would do) it would be obtainable from banks or scroll merchants for around 4 EB.

1. Why people might use it: If they are lootrunning/grinding mobs and they have almost an inventory of emeralds but don't want to go back to a town (as it can be far) it would be worth it to use a scroll to clear space the in your inventory that presumably would gain you more than the cost of the scroll.
2. Why the cost: I have suggested it cost around 4 EB to make it almost a tactical decision to use it.
3. Why is this a good idea: I think it would contribute towards making lootrunning for emeralds and grinding mobs for emeralds viable ways of making money.

I think 4 EB is too expensive cus you would need 4 stacks of emeralds plus to make a profit

 

That's not very much when lootrunning. If anything, I think the cost should be higher - closer to 6-8 EB.

 

4 EB is way too cheap for such a big improvement. I'd rather it be either 32 EB or 1 LE since it'd make bankers completely redundant otherwise

If it's a scroll that'd mean it's a consumable, so around 4EBs is probably good to make it worth it.

I kinda like the idea! How would you obtain the scroll though?

 

It could require a quest, like the Skill Point Reset Scroll. It could be a dungeon reward. It could also come from the Seaskipper on occasion.

 

I suggested in my post to have them for sale at banks or scroll merchants I don't see any reason to make them harder to obtain.

When you use the scroll, you save two soul points by spending—2EB? 25EB? You can probably infer how often I use it.

After thinking about it, I agree that the scroll should come from banks or other merchants. While it'd be as unique and usefully as the Reset Scroll (more or less), it's more logical to have it come from a bank or scroll shop, just as the Reset Scroll comes from a logical source.

 

If it's consumable it will make no sense, this is a terrible idea imo

 

you want permanent access to a banker through an item/command?
If the ct wanted to add that as a feature i believe they would have long done so.
I tried to suggest an interesting possibly more balanced way of implementing emerald condensing.
but I would be interested to hear how you think this should work.

 

This should be a command such as /condense. It should just take that amount of emeralds from your inventory to pay for the scroll effect. Thus, being more convenient than the effect in item form.

In short, make this a command so you don’t have to lug scrolls everywhere and waste inventory space. I would add a one hour cool down to the command so it doesn’t lead to emerald inflation.

Good idea btw, I would probably use this even if it isn’t a command

 

You want to know how I think this will work? By having you go the banker every time, the item is worthless if it's 4eb as during lootruns people using throw their emeralds away or do /guild contribute. The scroll costs more than 20x as much as a detlas scroll, so even if it ain't convenient at the moment, it would be a lot cheaper and cost effective to go back to a town. Also, you're never more than 10 minutes away from a bank in the proper world (not dungeons or quest worlds) ever.

 

Not having to go back to a bank means being able to open more chests and not throw emeralds away so will profit more than 4 EB is how I see it. Thanks for your opinion but i think people will find a use for it :)

 

i believe this is a great idea, though does it only work for one stack of emeralds, or all present stacks of emeralds? does it work for EB to LE conversion too?

 

It should work for all present stacks of emeralds.
EB to LE doesnt seem necessary for what i intended it for (grinding and lootrunning).

 

This would be extremely convenient wdym, 4 eb is nothing in a lootrun so I would gladly spend for that instead of going back to the bank all the time.

 

It's a technical waste of emeralds, most people in lootruns just do /guild contribute with them anyway.
