As a long time Wynncraft player, I can say easily one of the stupidest things to happen was easily the Market Tax, and the lowered reward LE for quests. But this isn't a bad thing if done right, It could easily be used to the games advantage.
In Real life, our tax dollars go to the officials who are supposed to manage the "Government". However on Wynn, our taxes go down the drain. The only people who are actually paid are the Admin's with real currency, the rest are volunteers. so I ask,

    What if
our tax actually went to somewhere instead of down the drain?

Now you might try and say, "oH No I dON't liKe whERe tHis iS goINg", and by all means you're allowed to say that, but hear me out.
You see, there's this cool term call an "Incentive".
We've all experienced it growing up, where it was a parent telling you, "Hey son, I'll give you 5$ if you take out the trash," or a teacher being like "I'll give you a bathroom pass if you clean the whiteboard."
What if we used the market tax to pay the Wynn-Team to speed up Dern or updates?
Maybe It'll give them an incentive to work harder and faster?
(also encourage people to join the team to increase the production of updated?)

Anyway, Its just a suggestion me and a couple of boys in Detlas were talking about and I'd actually turn to the community for all of your opinions. Please feel free to share your opinions!

considering how many market transactions there are, the ct would be paid LEs for making small amounts of content, if not any at the time, and this would be very unfair for regular players who work much harder. I doubt this would give them more incentive either, as it's just in game money. If you want the content team to speed up updates, try to push to get (of age) ct paid with actual donation money, and if you want tax to go somewhere, maybe think of somewhere else it could go

The problem is there aren't many places this Tax can even go to.
An ideal situation would be for the server to find a way to deal with this "Tax", whether it's having some weird lottery system to give back to the community, or adding some new, quirky gambling aspect to the game instead of out-right purging LE in excess. (and we all know no one wants that xd)
The solution to the the whole CT-Team would be more of an, "Effort put in = reward", and whose to say small content isn't good? Its better than going weeks, if not months without anything. And I bet to differ about unfairness to the regular player, as it could potentially motivate any player with some skills sign up for, lets say the build team. That's an extra set of hands that could be building Dern. :)

This will defeat the purpose of the tax.
In Wynn you don't have a constant amount of emeralds as new ones are created very quickly.
This leads to inflation in the market so the solution I having a tax which takes out emralds from the economy.

So now if you're a volunteer (you don't get paid with real money) you get a very very large amount of emeralds, and this is supposed to, like, inspire them to hurry up? You're speaking nonsense matey

it's not like giving the ct some emeralds would speed up how fast updates are released, from what I know they will always be released in full chunks with patches periodically for small easy features. giving some of them some emeralds won't speed up updates significantly; we don't know exactly what keeps them from release either, it may not be the content teams worth ethic. also, the point of this system shouldn't be to encourage more people to apply. the wynn content team is already massive, and someone in the ct stream even admit that they can't have too many at a given time. if giving players free emeralds is really enough of an incentive to have them apply, then that'd just overflow the apps and take attention away from people who actually want to help wynncraft for the sake of improvement instead of money.

edit: also as yuno said the tax helps take emeralds that are constantly being brought in to the economy out, therefore slowing down inflation

Wynncraft's economy inflates due to mob drops, loot chests, quests and blacksmiths. It deflates due to identifiers, merchants and the occasional death. Using the market without tax, emeralds aren't destroyed or generated, and thus it has no effect on the economy. However judging from the implementation of the tax it seems that more emeralds are being generated per hour than are being destroyed, which is why there's a tax now. The emeralds that are wasted because of this tax are MEANT to be taken out of the system to slow the inflation of the economy. I think it's best to see the tax as a price for using the markets, and it's going to the virtual people who run them

I forgot what the term is, but if there's one thing I learned in AP Psychology it's that if you are paid for something you already enjoy doing, your opinion of the activity you previously enjoyed will plummet. If they suddenly don't like what they're doing, they'll start being slower, thus doing the opposite of what was intended. This may not be real money, but it's the same concept.

This is a terrible idea, I'd rather the emerald tax be lowered and the quest reward emeralds be increased. A portion of tax should instead go to the local territory owners, and a Marketplace should be more commonplace in different cities.

This would be a simpler but more effective solution, it would encourage competition between guilds for territories that have marketplaces, and it would lore-wise make sense, as well as making gameplay more fun.

And this way I can organize a communist uprising and distribute the wealth equally to the working class!

And definitely not keep all the emeralds to myself well working the peasants to death and brutally murdering all opposition.
