Dungeons The Maze Of Ith

    STOP RIGHT THERE

    THIS ISN't just another ridiculous maze post. (admins hate these)

    This is a new dungeon idea inspired by my favorite magic the gathering card

    so you probably have a LOT of questions so lets begin:

    What is magic the gathering?

    It is a card game older than pokemon

    What is the actual idea? Get to the point.

    I propose the addition of a level 101 dungeon in the void called the maze of ith. The dungeon will consist of puzzles, combat and occasionally parkour.

    How will it look like?

    The maze of ith will appear near the far edge of the void with an ornate purpur block decorations marking the dungeon entrance and walls

    How is it unlocked?

    in the void village an npc named Ridcully will tell the player a tale about a structure of unknown origins that confounds and leads the most fortitude minds to madness. He will then ask the player to confirm if this legend is true and this structure actually exists. You will then be given the quest "Unveil the void"

    Upon finding the Maze of ith entrance, you will receive a message in chat saying: "This appears to be the place from Ridcully's tale." "It seems locked away by some sort of barrier." "You should report back to him"


    After reporting back to Ridcully, he will say the following "hmm I think I may know someone with the proper magical prowess needed to get past the barrier" "Talk to Sonra, I assume he still is living in the light realm", "either way report back to me once you have found him"

    Sonra be in the light realm village and will then give you a quest item called the matrix combination key.

    Sonra will congratulate you and then ask you to enter the maze of ith using the key to unlock the barrier. Since he is curious as to what lies in the maze of ith.

    The dungeon

    Each run of this dungeon will be different, with every room that appears being one of many preset rooms. There will be 20 different rooms per dungeon and 5 different categories and various sub categories. The different sub categories are arranged in each category by difficulty. However, (Combat may be harder than Parkour and vis versa)

    Categories

    Combat (Fighting mobs and other variations of this)
    Sub categories:
    Survival (wait until the entrance opens)
    Mob arena (kill a certain amount of mobs to advance)
    Token retrieval (Mobs spawn continually and drop tokens a certain amount of tokens is needed to advance)
    Mini boss (a strong mob must be killed to advance)
    Parkour (Jump around to the end)
    Sub categories:
    levitation parkour (the player will receive levitation and try to get to the top before the effect runs out)
    end rod parkour (the player will parkour up a vertical tower like structure using end rods to stand on)
    Ship adventure (the player will ride an end ship to the next part of the dungeon while fighting off mobs)

    Dragon escape (The floor is leaking dragons breath make it to the top before you are incinerated by purple particles)
    Puzzle (use ur noggin)
    Sub categories:
    snake (the player will guide an ice snake through a variety of obstacles to an emerald block at the end. Doing this successfully unlocks the next part of the dungeon)
    Mirror (an npc will mimic all movements the player makes and deals high amounts of contact damage. The player must get past this npc to continue the dungeon)
    Beacons (there will be a beacon in this room with buttons that swap the color of stained glass above it the player must make this beacon purple with out using purple stained glass)
    three doors (the player must pick the right door to advance or fight mobs behind other doors)
    Boss (a real challenge)
    Sub categories:
    Guardian of the far-lands (npc that casts warrior spells and jumps around the room when at low health. Jumps create shockwaves that launch players away while also dealing damage)
    Mega Shulker (a Shulker on a pyramid that teleports around the room casting multihit when players get close.The shulker also summons other shulkers and fires levitation bullets. The top of the dungeon room is covered with dragons breath so don't get levitated)
    Void entity (void entity will be an npc with a full black skin and eerie dark blue eyes he will attack the player by transforming into a smoke cloud that acts as a flamethrower and summons weaker versions of himself called void spawn that do the exact same thing but have less hp and deal less damage)
    The collector of keys (a very rare boss that has a 1/10000 chance of replacing a normal boss room or mini boss room. The collector of keys will be an npc with a black mage robe. He will summon all key guardians currently in the game at random at a rate of 1 per second (these don't drop keys). Disregarding the above will have the ai of the mob frostbite found in nessak. When he reaches half health he will fire a machine gun of keys at the player quickly overwhelming most players. If this guy does appear, is killed, and the dungeon is completed, 5 of each key will be rewarded to the players who finished the dungeon in addition to the dungeon rewards)
    The dungeon layout

    at the beginning of each dungeon, there will be a hallway leading to the first room. This may have different randomized preset decorations at each run.

    Following the initial hallway, the rooms will be arranged bellow with random rooms of random subsections of these categories being chosen

    Combat
    Combat
    Parkour
    Combat
    Puzzel
    Parkour
    Combat
    Combat
    Puzzel
    Parkour
    Boss

    The dungeon will also have a few room spawn conditions,

    1. rooms in the same dungeon can not be identical, they can have a similar design but there must be an easily noticeable difference
    2. only 1 mini boss can spawn per dungeon
    3. A mini boss can only appear in the 4th and 5th combat rooms
    My head hurts...

    Seems like an interesting idea, but it's difficult to read in dark theme. Could you select all your text and set its color to "None"?

    unlock the void -> Unveil the void ... cuz that sounded a lil better, atleast in my head.

    this is really well thought out, but it's unlikely that the content team would outright just use this suggestion completely. instead of trying to suggest an entire dungeon detail to detail, maybe try to provide some unique mechanic ideas for a dungeon or a cool style/place for it to be. something the content team could work with is a lot better than outright just telling the content team to add an entire dungeon you thought of. this is also better for your suggestion because it allows the content team who has knowledge of how content is made to be able to make it in how wynncraft needs it.

    I would also like to note a lot of these room ideas are things that already exist in dungeons or stuff that might not work well or be impossible to make.
    (ex. the boat ride, levitation and a mimic room. boat ride already exists, levitation hasn't been used yet to my knowledge and could be buggy with movement spells, and a mimic ai is outright impossible with the current resources)

    Honestly, I have not gone into detail regarding the dungeon, I simply listed the randomized rooms and what they basically do. No stats or exact block measurements. I would rather give a dungeon, than just some rooms that could be in a dungeon, because this gives the wynncraft team context for the rooms and may inspire them to do something similar.

    Though I don’t quite know the limitations of Minecraft myself, I can understand how my ideas may be implausible in game.

    For the mimic room, a fast entity would walk towards the player’s coordinates reflected across a line in the center of the room. This means that the entity doesn’t exactly mimic the player. (If this was the case only a teleport mage could get past and this would definitely be impossible) I am not sure if this is still impossible, but I will edit this room if this is the case

    I actually only lightly touched upon what the boat ride is. The difference between the boat ride in ancient nemract and the one in this dungeon is that this boat is an end ship found near end cities flying in mid air. With the boat in ancient nemract, falling off is ok, but in this “boat” if you fall off, you die. I will add this in my post to clarify. Sorry

    Since the levitation effect may be buggy, it could be replaced with an effect similar to the upward launch of an uppercut.

    Sorry, I am kind busy trying to figure out the rewards to this dungeon. Just know, I appreciate the support people on the forums are giving my idea though. :)

    Sorry for tunnel visioning on potential issues regarding my thread. I will make sure to thank people in the future.
