So after you log on, and you go onto a server and the game puts the pack back on for you. Then after your server gets restarted or you need to go onto another server you get sent to the lobby and need to go onto another server, the game should not always have to recheck to see if you have the pack or not, only the first time you log onto the server. Thanks

If it didn't check every time you could go on with a banned texture pack, I heard somewhere it also checks for banned mods at the same time (though that may be untrue), so it's definitely a necessity imo

cool post, it's almost as if I'd seen something along the lines of this before

This suggestion isn't about mods or removing any currently existing systems. It's about changing when the server asks you to equip the WynnPack, and when not to.

In it's current state, the server checks if players have the latest WynnPack in their server-resource-packs folder by filename (which is possibly a hash of the contents) every single time upon joining a world, and downloads it if they don't. When players go back to the lobby via /class, /hub, /lobby or server restart, and join another world, the same process is ran, even if they've equipped the online pack. This works as intended when players disconnect from Wynn entirely and come back, but when they remain on the network, there is no need to repeat the process, since it's been handled already. In fact, this is a major drawback to everyone who plays the game through the online pack instead of a locally downloaded one, since minecraft's texture loading is quite a lengthy thing to deal with, especially for forge users (sometimes up to 2 minutes, for me at least, which is more than enough to time you out of the server). This thread suggests, that the server'd remember if a player has already joined a world once without disconnecting in between, so it won't try to re-equip the pack when joining a new world.

As for your "banned packs", servers can't check what resource packs their players have equipped, nor the packs they have in general, since resource packs don't have any ids. They can only ask your client for specific file names in this case, and receive a yes/no to their request. Obviously, that wouldn't be too efficient of a system, since anyone could change a single letter in their resource pack name, and get away with it. And, as for your banned mods, that system is ran completely separate from resource packs, right when a player joins the server. Not when they join a world. Plus, that system in particular has a bit more to it than simply checking filenames, which I'm not going to go into for obvious reasons, so don't imagine using banned mods without getting punished.

    Thanks

I made another thread as I brought out the wrong message in my last thread so I deleted that one and made a new one.

May be wrong but I think you can change the server settings in the servers page so that resource packs are enabled. This should fix it.
