    Lads.

As of recent conversations with some people of the discord community, there are alot of complaints about mods responding late or not at all sometimes. To make something clear, we all know that mods have a private life to attend and have alot of other mod-like things to do in the backround, so we do understand the time-outs.

However, a question was brought up during a convo that was quite interesting:
Why don't we have wynncraft discord mods, so the general mods can focus more on other stuff?
I might be a blind nut here and miss something, but is there a real reason why discord only mods are not a thing?

Having small mods to moderate and look out for the discord only seems like a more efficient way to deal with everything like spam, hate speeches or no-goodie pictures. There are alot of people who always have an eye on everything thats happening right now so problems can not only be solved quicker, but people also dont have to ping the moderators and drag them out of whatever they were doing. There is also the thing with people keep asking for mods because 'stuck in a block aaaa', so a more passive-supportive role next to @help would also help people faster.

I want this to be an open discussion, getting points for and against such a system to come up with the best way to moderate the discord properly. There are alot of people complaining about slow responses and alot of people getting annoyed from the 'stuck in a block' help screams, so we should think of something to make it a better place for everyone.

Also, while this thread suggests a discord role, there are other things that need some attention aswell:
-Nobody reads pinned messages, even tho they contain the answer to 90% of the questions that appear in the wrong channels.
-People wont use #questions for questions. Like what the actual hell, is this fixable somehow?

Also opinion: nobody uses @help and doesn't feel very useful

Edit: a few days after this thread was created, there was a situation were we had to drag mods into this, and are really grateful for all the help.
Again, this is not to call out the mods for being useless or lazy, this is simply to help out with the small things on the discord, so we can support both mods and the people stuck in blocks.

Good idea, Discord is pretty cool but every single new player asking about being stuck in a block or wanting their lost items back in #general and the best build in #class_builds can get very annoying. Also yeah, mods can sometimes take a while to react and while that's completely normal, I guess Discord-only mods would be pretty useful.. now where do we find someone who can moderate and is often online

I don't know if it's possibly on Discord to show anything upon first joining, but I imagine that would be the best place to explain what to do on common glitches, or at least take a look at the pins first. Another idea is to put #questions above #general and #wynncraft, seeing as many new people with a question just click on the first channel they see, assuming that's where they get help.

Also, add a poll and congrats on your first post.

    My proposal:

For the time that the user is in the cool down for joining the server, if there is one, have them only see one specific channel that explains everything that they need to do, such as reading pinned messages, rules, using channels properly, not tagging mods when they are stuck in blocks etc. This can most likely be done via bots that automatically assigns a role after x minutes have passed.

Though I am against punishing people for speaking in the wrong channels, it is very annoying to see 'plz help bob tomb', 'plz help death', and so on, all the time in #general. Some form of enforcement or making it more obvious (as if it wasn't enough) as to where people are meant to be talking, at least I feel, is necessary

I also think Discord only mods are a good idea, or maybe giving the @Help tag to very experienced members of the community and know it very well, though others may think otherwise which I can also understand.

There are enough roles in the Discord already, and I think some people may be getting confused on which ones to use depending on their situation. In my opinion, @Moderator should really only be used if someone is breaking any rules or just being a dick head in general, or if they are having issues with something that only they have power over, not 'plz tp me out of wall', 'plz fix ur game' (Because no, moderators are not developers therefore they can't fix the game). @Help for general enquires or if they need assistance in a quest because they are genuinely stuck, and it's either broken or they have no clue what they are doing. @QA/Quality Assurance if there is something that is broken which either they can fix, or can be brought up to the admins to have them notified about it (plz don't tag admins if there are actual issues :D).

In conclusion, yes for Discord only mods, and make it even more obvious to read the rules before players enter the server and start asking in the wrong channels or asking how to link their Discord account with the forums (which you should also not @Moderators for unless you've tried literally everything and it still isn't working).

Edit: Correct usage of @Moderator, or just an example, not 'plz tp out of blok' or 'am stuk plz help'

It seems like a reasonable enough idea, but I also agree mainly that instead of adding an entire new role for the issue, just add (like stated above) a new sub-role like @help to the experienced Moderators or Players (that ask for the role beforehand of course).

I feel there should be an ingame command to request a moderators assistance as me and some friends constantly encounter bugs while trying to progress, getting stuck under ragni till server restart etc.

I'm not sure how this relates to the thread, but I assume you want a way of getting easy assistance on Discord?
There's #questions, @help, and @moderator (please use in that order, you hardly really need mods for that kind of stuff).
