Summoner Class Idea

    General Info - This class would have the basic ability to summon a creature of sorts and as you gain levels your creatures become stronger and you can summon more. This classes paid/VIP variant would be a Necromancer. Both of these would add their own spice to the game. Their Weapon type could be a summon book also allowing them to summon new more powerful creatures.

    Summoner Attack Info
    Default Attack - Direct Summons -
    Target summons at a mob (Summons will automatically attack anything that attacks the player or them however this would force them to attack the target)
    1st Spell - Summon - Summons Creatures to Help you fight (More would Spawn Based on Attack Upgrades)
    2nd Spell - Buff Summons - Summons get a temporary strength and hp bonus (Duration Based On level upgrades)
    3rd Spell - Special Summon - Summons an extremely powerful creature to obliterate enemies in its wake. (Strength and Health is Level Based)
    4th Spell - Summon Regiment - Summon a regiment of creatures with a commander to attack all nearby mobs and surround you for protection. (Size and Stats Level Based)

    Necromancer Attack Info (All Mechanics are similar to the Summoners)
    Default Attack - Direct Undead -
    All Undead creatures summoned will attack the target (Same as Summoners attack)
    1st Spell - Resurrect Dead - Resurrect Undead to fight for you (Zombies and Skeletons would be Summons with Skeletons possessing a ranged weapon.)
    2nd Spell - Restore Undead - Heal the Undead Giving them more mobility health and strength.
    3rd Spell - Revive Hero - Revive an ancient hero to fight for you. (Could be bob. Wink.)
    4th Spell - Summon Undead Legion - Summon a legion of Undead with their once living commander from the grave to protect you and fight in your place.



    Why it would work - Well I've already seen the server use similar mechanics to what this would be using. Use an escort code for their following and use the guard's code to make them attack and then add the priority for the default attack's. Therefor it would (hopefully) not be hard to make these classes a reality.

    What role might it play? - Most likely a support/tank role. Supporting with damage and damage soaking. Tank since the summons could take damage for the players.

    Note: This is my first thread so if I messed up in a way please tell me.

    VIP and normal classes can't be different except by name, so I'm going to take this as two class ideas.

    I don't really like summoner tbh, but nercromancer is cool I think, but will you get the xp if any of your monsters kill anyone? Becuase this could be abused for xp tbh, and if they don't then they could steal your xp and kill, so it would be quite hard to balance.

    Could easily make the summons be alive for only a limited time. And I think summons attacking anything that attacks you can lead to afk abusing, so remove that. Just make it that the summon can only atack what you targets it to attack.

    I agree with what Razor said, make them target so afk abusing will be harder, and make them only come out for a limited time would be good.

    I would suggest trading either the 3rd or 4th spell for a movement ability instead. This would make it match the other classes in the game currently, and would give the class more variety. I would imagine that the summons would work off spell damage (for spell damage+ items), but would the main weapon do damage or just direct the summons. I could see some issues with the class if the summons were the only way to do damage to mobs. If you want to flesh out the idea more, it is important to think about how elemental defense/damage factors into the summoning system.

    Well the summons would be afk abused if they had unlimited hp but they dont They also could have low regen to help counter the afk abilities

    What if you went into a low level area with them, then they will practically never be killed (and why on earth would you give them health regen anyway???) It takes like 5 seconds to get enough mana to spawn them, they would be OP af imo

    Ok I see your point.I think your ideas are good for it and on second thought the original idea did have a lot of flaws. But if the class was done right it could be something cool and new to try.

    I don't really like the idea that the whole class is about summoning mobs. Maybe this could be a spell to another new class like shaman?

    Did a bit of thinking and got something that I think sounds kinda nice

    Your first spell, the summon, can be aimed at it's level 2 variant (before that the summon simply could just spawn next to you upon casting), and the level 3/final upgrade to the spell would increase the range at which you could aim the summon. Aiming simply would work by summoning the mob in the block that your cursor is aimed at (or in the same column that it's aimed at if aimed at a wall or in the air for example) within the defined aiming radius given to the spell.

    How I figured this could help tie in a movement spell replacement for one of the other spells would simply to have your movement spell make you swap places with the summon upon casting.
    Kinda like uhh

    Level 1: Simply swap places with your summon.
    Level 2: Swap places, and both you and your summon will deal a small amount of damage in their respective locations upon swapping.
    Level 3/Final: Swap places, deal a small amount of damage, and either:
    Deal a radial blind effect (not too favorable imo because at that point it's literally just mage's teleport)
    Gain some potion buff for like 5-10 seconds upon swapping, like jump boost or speed

    just a few thoughts I had

    sounds cool but I would not make a whole new class out of it but a new mage that means you can do class selection when you can make a mage created between the normal and the summoner.

    In all fairness, it's not a terrible idea, but repeat suggestions are annoying, especially necromancer/summoner & housing, which have been done to death and back again, and as a result have been memed to hell. I'm not against Necromancers or Housing necessarily, but with this amount of repeat suggestions, it's gotta have something unique to it that other Suggestions/Class Suggestions/Summoner-Necromancer Suggestions don't have. In addition, given that there have been about four full pages of Necromancer/Summoner suggestions since 9/7, and it hasn't been implemented, I see no merit in continuing to post it as it seems to be abundantly clear it won't happen. TL;DR It's an OK idea, but it's been done to death - until there is a more refined, specific idea of playstyle, stats, damage, spells, etc. with unique concepts, this suggestion doesn't really have much worth to it.
